Magoo’s Pub & Pizza — Restaurant in Lafayette

So…. I’ve been going to Magoos for a while now and the service has just went downhill exponentially. The last time I was dining in with a girlfriend, we literally got our first drink and order taken- because we knew what we wanted- we have favorites of course- then nothing- NOTHING and I’m sure they were short-staffed etc., and it was getting busy- BUT- every other table was touched, even outside- except for us, who had been there prior to the other tables even coming in. To the point of getting their checks, getting boxes, and mind you- these were customers who came in well after we did, and they were in and out, in short order. it was all an extremely disappointing experience since we usually order at least 2 cocktails/beers when we’re out anywhere- so they definitely lost money.just serving us one drink and not checking back- which overall, was the most disappointing part of the whole experience. We were very, very, VERY disappointed with this service and that already made us not want to go back.

THEN last Friday I decided to call to do a pick up order- I was hosting an event and needed a rather large order and asked, prior to placing the order if i could pay over the phone- I was promptly told, just upon asking- ‘oh no, we can’t do that right now, we normally do, but not on a busy Friday night. We just don’t have the time”. This was highly disappointing, considering I wanted to give this business a second chance, after the poor in-dining experience I already had less than a week or so prior. I had never ordered pick up/takeout from them, but had seen others come in and out while we were dining in the restaurant, so I thought it may be better. Needless to say, they have now lost so much business- just from me and my 10 or so- girlfriends/couples/coworkers that I had recommended to go there and eat on a regular basis. Truly so sad, they definitely have good food- but oof! The rest…. A lot to be desired for- I guess I’ll have to find another place to stop on the way to my new home, since I was actually looking forward to stopping here...

Such a friendly neighborhood pub. I heard about the pizza and had to try it. At first I was a bit disappointed that the crust was not homemade. I ordered the ultra thin crust and it was definitely a store bought crust. That said the pizza toppings, sauce and cheese were delicious. The pizza stayed crispy two days later! I’m a bit of a pizza snob and living in Chicago for 34 years made me even snobbier😂. But this is a pub not a pizzeria so I’m impressed with how they managed to make a good pizza that I thoroughly enjoyed. I will be back....

Sat out on the patio and had a few beers and some food. It was really good food and the waitress was really friendly and did a good job.

There were a few loud cars that went by which was a little obnoxious but that really can't be helped. Otherwise it was a great place to sit and chill and chat with friends.

They have two single-seater bathrooms, one for men and one for women. I kind of wonder why they just don't make both unisex. Not like it's a big deal but...
