Tea-Rex still stands out as one of the best bubble tea cafes in the Acadiana area, especially at their second location. I tried the Crystal Blue Milk Tea (Jasmine and Butterfly Tea) w/ Golden Crystal Boba, a Korean Corn Dog, and the Lobster Balls.
First, the Milk Tea. I normally stick with anything that’s “Taro” when it comes to milk teas, but decided to try something new. This drink came dressed pretty nice, but I couldn’t taste much of the Jasmine and Butterfly tea. Overall though, this drink was tasty and refreshing, especially with the Golden Crystal Boba, which were sweet and chewy.
Next, the Korean Corn Dog. I got one with a Cheetos coating, a Sausage & Mozzarella filling, drizzled in Yum Yum and Sweet Chili Sauce. I was honestly surprised by this KDog since I didn’t like it at their first location. The outside was crunchy while the inside was chewy, combined with the sauce which made it taste sweet and savory. I thoroughly enjoyed this down to the last bite.
Now, for the Lobster Balls. I don’t normally get anything that’s seafood if that place doesn’t specialize in it (for reasons that I will not explain). These were… okay. They weren’t the best nor the worst. But I don’t think I will be trying them again.
Honestly, I’m impressed with how fast they got this place up and running. And the atmosphere is still so cute and aesthetic, just like their first location, but now even bigger. I genuinely believe if they stay consistent, this shop will definitely give other “bubble tea” places a run for their...
Read moreI’ve been to both locations and the service has gone down hill. The milk tea is just milk and syrup. The boba is either soggy. Not chewy like tapioca boba should be. It’s overcooked and stale. I went to one location and they were out of corndogs. I go to another and they are out of boba. I went back to the other one when they FIRST advertised it and they were sold out without any knowledge of when the one person who knows how to make it will make more. So they are never fully stocked and when they are the food isn’t done right. Also the floors and chairs are dirty. The floors and baseboards are dusty and literally dirt. No one cleans with the little attraction this place has. Going back to Kung fu tea… the customer service is awful. It’s always some kids working who don’t greet or awkwardly greet people. Without any knowledge on how milk tea should be done or any care on the quality f the food or drinks. It’s a cute place with a dirty and unprofessional...
Read moreOfficially done with this place. I’ve visited numerous times and never was greeted as a customer when walking in the establishment. Workers are not friendly and lack customer service skills. My first time at this establishment I asked for a recommendation and it took the girl forever to recommend a drink (note: asked for something sweet and fruity). Today’s visit was horrible. I wasn’t greeted when I walked in and waited to be serviced. The cashier was sitting down having a personal conversation with a non customer while other customers were waiting for their orders. I wasn’t serviced until other customers walked in and the cashier proceeded to help them before me. I kindly advised I was next and I’ve been standing here which she already knew. I placed my order and when my order was completed she left order on counter and walked away. Customer service training is...
