Update: the reorder they messed up on. After talking with the manager though he fixed it ASAP and refunded for the dishes they faulted on. Although I was peeved, he handled it calmy and swiftly. That manager is amazing and I have to say the staff was very apologetic. In their defense it is father's day and dining in is allowed again finally. Updated star review because of final customer service and recovery, but hope corporate understands the issue of saying phone orders are okay when their location isn't doing it. Their phone was constantly still ringing.
Father's Day nightmare. So I contacted them over the phone and it said that they were taking orders online and over the phone Sunday Father's day. Left a voicemail, but after 30 min and their online website not working, I just drove in. I placed my order and had to constantly repeat myself. After 15 min the order was ready. When I got home though, it was a disaster.....
First, they gave gravy but no biscuits, second, they forgot a complete order.... Like no sides or anything was there for this order. Third and the most shocking, I asked for Blueberry Pancakes and they gave us raisins....like if it was another berry or something fine, but how do you get raisins from blueberries? So I had to drive all the way back cause they DONT ANSWER THEIR PHONE! I get there and I hear the manager saying they aren't taking phone orders....even if their own phone system says they are. I explain my issues and they say they'll redo those items and that was it...no reimbursement. No comped dish. Just we will redo those items and thanks for waiting. I sort of wish I could redo the tip to 0. Sadly I wasn't the only one with issues that day as a few others came back with complaints.
I understand with everything going on it's crazy, I understand that even with dine in, takeout orders are going to be like a mad house, but the fact that your phone system says one thing and you say another, and the fact that you don't CHECK the order before handing it to the customer (they kept the itemized receipt), shows me they are just auto pilot and sadly may be victim to some scand reviews. It is sad too as they are amazing as a whole and this is the closest one to south...
Read moreOur waiter was awful. I have honestly have never been treated this way. I was in shock. The waiter was very short and like in a hurry with us. And she was really friendly with this elderly couple that got there after me. They were sweet and really nice. I was friendly with her when I walked in and asked for some drinks and was looking through the menu. The rest of my party hadn't arrived. Then the cute elderly couple came in and she was a different person with them. She asked anything else but when it came to our table we hadn't even finished talking when she was walking away from us. My sister was placing her order and mid conversation the other couple had a question and she turned away from her while she was talking to help them out and then said to her. Sorry but I can't be at 2 places at once... My thought was well you should've said that to them because you where still talking to us..? It was so rude.. I felt awful and kept apologizing to my sister for the waiters attitude. My sister laughed and said it isn't you it's OK. But I was embarrassed. I wanted to eat here. The food was good its the reason why this isn't a 1 star. Service is a big thing for us and even though her service sucked we still tipped and she rarely visited our table we should've been white maybe she would've been friendly like she was with the couple.. I don't know I have never had someone cut us off while in a conversation with us to then act like it's our fault. This bothered me. I've served people before and I tried to understand her shortness with us and I thought it's a busy day it's OK. But when she did that to my sister. I was shocked. I have never done that to a customer. Compliments to the Chef and another waiter who helped her because she didn't visit our table often....
Read moreStopped at Polly's Pies in Laguna Hills today for breakfast. Grant was my server and a fine young man who was professional and efficient. I ordered the chicken friend steak meal with OJ and a cup of coffee. As I sat awaiting my meal I noticed two Orange County Deputies and called Grant over as I wanted to thank them for their service by buying them breakfast. My food came and I enjoyed my meal and I glanced over at the Deputies as they enjoyed their food and conversation. As I finished my meal I paid both tickets and left tips for both tables. I then went over and handed the two officers the paid invoice and personally thanked them for their service. They both had several stripes so I am guessing either sergeant or lieutenant and mentioned to them that I am sure thay have truly earned those stripes and I mentioned how much I appreciate their service. They were very thankful and I wished then a good day. It was a pleasant breakfast and my heart felt good acknowledging and honoring such bravery and sacrifice in service. The ambiance was pleasant. Recommended.
Previous review I Stopped at Polly's Pies in Laguna Hills for breakfast after my PT. Had the ABC omelet with sliced tomatoes and a cup of black Java. Homero Gomez was my server and was not only friendly but highly efficient. This place is a great spot for breakfast and their fresh baked goods are evident upon walking in as the aroma of their bakery items is ever so...
