The place is place terrible to eat. First - Cashier is very rude to the waiter and to it's customer. During the time that i'm eating in their so called restaurant i saw a scene which is not every nice in my eyes, the waiter and cashier are yelling to each other in rude way. While the waiter is serving our food i asked one of the waiter if he likes working there and he frankly said NO! which is funny in my opinion. Lastly when we are ready to pay our bill the cashier is very rude and doesn't seems to be care to it's costumer.
Second - Food is oily and seems to be frozen. The vegetables that used seems to be fresh but the meat that they used is definitely frozen in my opinion. Duck too oily in my opinion, when i squish the duck the duck is overflowing with oil. Fried Rice too much oil, you don't need that much oil in a fried rice. The Soup is fine but they put too much vegetables on it that you can't even enjoy it. Sweet sour chicken seems to be frozen. The fish that they gave us is sooo thin that i can compare it to a papers and very dry that i suspected to be a frozen food. The vegetables also has so much oil on it.
Lastly - The Place seems to be small. if you guys are going to eat with 4 people and the biggest seat is filled you guys better turn around and leave because the second biggest table is very small We order at least 5 dishes which is not that many in my opinion considering we have 4 people. The chair i have no problem but the table is sooo small. that we have no space. also i checked the tables and it's full of gum. In positive note they changed the table clothes after someone is done which nice in my opinion. Lastly the dessert that they gave us is sooo cold that i have to put it back...
Read moreMy friend and I went during lunchtime on a Saturday, around 1:00 pm. We went to the counter to the right of the entrance and advised there were two people for our party. They gave us a scrap of paper with a hand written number which they will call out when they are ready to seat you. It was only a 5 minutes wait to get us seated. We were provided a regular menu and the lunch specials menu which is available everyday.
It was our first time coming to this restaurant. I liked that this restaurant uses tablecloths, has a nice atmosphere, and houses large aquarium tanks near the kitchens for some of their seafood items they serve.
I loved the lunch special menu since it was extensive and has something for everyone. When we were ready to order, I half raised my hand while making eye contact with a waiter, which they came immediately. I ordered the orange peel chicken and my friend ordered the shrimp with vegetables. Lunch specials comes with soup and a pot of rice. I had the hot sour soup, and my friend had the egg drop soup. Black tea was included and fortune cookies also came with the check at the end of the meal. TIP: If you need your teapot refilled, just remove the cover of the teapot and place it on your table. If the waiter sees it is empty, they refill it.
When we stacked our plates at end of the table, waiters cleared our plates. The waiter was efficient and attentive when flagged. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed our meal. We will definitely come back next time to try other items...
Read moreGood but not great food in very clean and upgraded environment. There are white tablecloths and the servers greet you when you come in. The usual soy sauce is on the table. Also salt and pepper (is this a thing for all Chinese restaurants near Laguna Woods?) We ordered vegan mu shu veggies (no egg), Kung Pao tofu, and veggie fried rice (no egg). The mu shu came out first, with egg. We returned it and the fries rice came out next. It was fairly good - flavorful and not too salty. After about 5 minutes the tofu came out. The tofu was deep fried and good, but there was almost no sauce and no peanuts. So that dish was a miss. After about 10 minutes the mu shu came back out. It was very good, plenty of thin black mushrooms. So overall it was a good meal, the best Chinese we've had in the area, but the communication is poor and it's below the standards we're used to. We will...
