đ© Weâve been coming here for a few years now. We moved to Laguna Niguel 5 years ago and I canât believe I didnât know about this diamond in the rough before! They are a donut shop, but more than that, a gourmet coffee shop with delicious organic coffee drinks and also a âsecretâ food menu that will have your mouth salivating! Delicious options from burritos to specialty sandwiches, itâs not âfast foodâ itâs all freshly made to order with high quality ingredients. Theyâre a little on the pricy side for my taste, but honestly for the value, there is no one else that does it better for less money. But beyond that, the value lies in so much more than just their menuâŠ
This is a family owned and operated business and the owners are there most of the time. Best thing is, they treat YOU like family when you come in and you even get to know some of the regulars and it becomes a place to hang with local friends and family! I love the atmosphere there too, aside from the brown walls and the Christmas curtains that are still up! đ Haha sorry George! đ Iâd love to redecorate for ya!
Whatâs really sweet is they always have local artist paintings and artwork on the walls for sale, I love that they give back to their customers and support their business too!
They always do special events and host taco parties, decorate for holidays and have fun stuff for the kids, and they donate their leftover donuts to hospitals and other events and charities at the end of the day.
These guys not only provide a great atmosphere (the đ¶ tunes are always đ„FIREđ„!!) but they also help you network with people and places if you need references for things! Like for instance last year we needed a new car for my brother who recently moved to the country and they helped us with recommendations and connections! They are also so kind and friendly with my kids, and they always have a treat for our pup! My kids have requested to go there on their birthday for a birthday donut!
We live within walking distance and we end up landing at this spot regularly (on purpose) for a donut, or a coffee, or just a chat with a friendly face! Like I said, they feel like family at Sunny Side.
Oh yah one more thing- we have called them and asked for bulk of donuts for special events like school event or a birthday gathering and theyâve been so helpful and accommodating, and their prices for those orders are super reasonable! They even loaned us a donut wall for my sonâs...
Read moreTHIS PLACE WAS FREAKING RIDICULOUS! I was LIVID this morning and please understand I am NOT a person that is rude to servers. I truly am so nice to everyone that serves me, even if they have a slight attitude, I think "hey, maybe they're just having a bad day" and tip anyways. WELL THIS PLACE IS F$%^ING TERRIBLE! I arrived there at 6:08 AM this morning, there was barely any selection and there was two men in front of me. The first order 7 donut holes and a donut, the next ordered a dozen donuts. Should've taken two minutes right? NOPE! The Mexican lady (shame to all hard working mexicans (I AM MEXICAN) takes 15 MINUTES TO SERVE SEVEN DONUT HOLES AND 12 DONUTS. I was SO upset at this point because I feared I was going to be late to work (25 min away) and was mad that I had already spent so much time in there that going to a different donut store would only make me even later. When it was my turn to FINALLY order, I told her 3 dozen and to please hurry because I was now running late, what does she do? She works like a fu%&ing turtle. I was so mad. I would have yelled at her if it weren't for my politeness. I'm going to call the owner and complain, it was THAT bad. I would NEVER recommend this...
Read moreI have sat on this review for a long time because I didnât want to be one of those vindictive dirt bags that hurts a local business. This said, I have been to this place 2-3 over the last several years and I generally feel unwelcome or that I am burdening the staff with my business.
I went in for take out breakfast burritos for my daughter and her friends. When I got home I found what looked like rat feces in the burrito wrapper. I contacted the location and was told that someone would get back to me.
I was contacted the next day and questioned about my issue . I shared pictures of the offending black material. Initially, the response was very concerned and I was told that the restaurant wanted to test what looks like rodent fecal matter. After back and forth with the restaurant, I was told it was too expensive to test it and that if I was worried about my health that I should contact the County health regulator. My full bill was refunded and I left the experience with the feeling that the person that contacted me was not concerned with the possibility that their food could be making me sick. I will never go back to this place or any of its...
