Hardee's — Restaurant in Lake Butler

We don't have a Hardee's near us so I like to grab a burger when I see one. As I stand waiting, I'm not greeted and stand there for several minutes until the manager sends the cashier over who doesn't seem to be focused. I ordered four double cheeseburgers and a large fry and noticed he missed ringing up a burger. Mentioning this because another reviewer had the same issue. Maybe we had the same cashier?

I've never had a bad Hardee burger until now. These were the worst burgers we've ever had from anywhere. They were barely warm, almost cold, thin and very dry. I had ketchup and could tell which were mine because they had ketchup all over the inside of the wrapper. I had to be careful eating it so I wouldn't get ketchup and mustard on me. My second one, I used two napkins to wipe off the ketchup and mustard before eating it. Husband had no ketchup on his but still had to watch that the mustard wouldn't drip on him.

I don't think I've ordered fries from Hardee's before. When we visit family in the panhandle, we go for breakfast every morning. Otherwise I normally just have burgers. Our large fry was smaller than I expected (but then again, I don't think I've ever had fries at Hardee's so not sure of their sizing - definitely smaller than other places for the price). They did not seem very fresh.

I don't understand how these burgers were so bad considering it was dinner time, although they were not very busy. Judging from the other reviews, we will avoid this one on the way to Lake City or the panhandle (there is another one just down the road). The food was very disappointing. Hardee's has gotten so expensive it's difficult to imagine a 5 star rating for one - why pay the expense of an actual restaurant for fast food? Anyway, while the service is decent at this one, it's not an exception. The food is like any Hardee's - great breakfast and somewhere above average food, but not markedly so. Atmosphere is also unremarkable. Plenty of parking though - and it's clean. But, at end of the day it's just a normal Hardee's. Update - last few times I have been here in the evening, after work, the drive through staff have been slightly on the rude side - like ordering a number 1 combo at the drive thru is a personal inconvenience for them - so while the breakfast crew is awesome, I gotta drop the service rating to two stars because of the...

Food can be good at times, but it is hit and miss. Manager Gina is great. Staff yells when there is a crowd and can't seem to handle the pressure. Have observed staff cussing and throwing things in front of adults and children. Milkshake machine is always "broken" within an hour of closing. They do not follow posted hours at night, often closing before posted times.

UPDATE: Biscuits have been fluffier in the morning. Morning crew still does better then other shifts. Evening shift just took 15 minutes with not a person in the store. Came in at 5:30. Served the Hardee's employee on break before me and she ordered after me, a very similar meal. Got wrong thing twice after the 15...
