Mrs Johnnie's has proven to be one of my best food discoveries in my wide-ranging travels around the United States. The home baked goods are some of the very best I have found. True authentic down home baking that will have your taste buds doing the Happy Dance big time. I especially like the gingerbread cakes and the pralines, but everything is good. However good the food is, the people are even better. The welcoming friendly service you get at Mrs. Johnnie's is the gold standard. Given the quality of the food, the prices are outrageously cheap. I have been eating here as long as I can remember. My family is native to Lake Charles, but I have been living in Virginia for the majority of my life. I would spend my summers in los Jonás with my grandparents every year and Ms. johnnies always tastes like home. I even have my husband hooked on it now.
