The worst Tias we have ever been too! The waiter was so nice at first offering us chips and salsa, we didn’t take it because we were still deciding on what to order, the we ordered the guacamole and chips and Queso, so then we asked for some salsa, there were 4 of us, he brought out 2 bowls which we thought was free, because we ordered the guacamole, and cheese, well anyway, we also ordered the fried zucchini, which was on a Huge platter, mind you there were 4 of us and they brought out 1, tiny half filled little jalapeño ranch for all of us to share?!!!!! So we ask for a couple more, he brought out 2 more half filled LITTLE to go cups maybe 1/8 cup each, anyway we got the bill and they charged us almost $6 for 2 salsas which we only touched one, and $1.44 for each half filled ranch which we only used one of what he brought us, so I ask him to come over and I said I’m not trying to be a B, but are you seriously charging us for 2 salsas when we didn’t eat it, nor did we know you were going to charge us for it and for the ranch, all he said was yes ma’am over and over, kinda rude like, he didn’t even say sorry or try to talk to the manager, so it wasn’t a good experience for us, we should have known when we just left the packed Luna bar next door to come to tias, and there wasn’t a single person in there, that should have been our sign, and it was lunch time. And we wanted the gator bite drink which in Texas is a blue color in a huge glass, we got a normal size glass for our drink and it wasn’t anything like the gator bite in Texas and cost almost $14, for one drink, so for 2 drinks, chips salsa, guacamole, and zucchini with the costly add ons cost $53!!! That was just for 2 of us, I’m sure glad we didn’t order and thing else! You would have thought they would have tried to at least help out with what we didn’t eat or touch but they didn’t, well he didn’t. So the food was good, but I felt we were over changed, they should tell people and give them the option if they want to pay that price first before springing it on the bill,...
Read moreSo this has to be the best place to grab a bite or a drink in Lake Charles, possibly South West La. Let's start with the food...we have been for both brunch and normal service hours, and both were fantastic. Most everything on the menu is made in-house, and you can taste the freshness and love put into the food. This is a definite fusion of Louisiana cultural cuisine and cantina styled Mexican fare. The brunch items we tried were the eggs Benedict 3 ways(carnitas, house made bonding, and crab cakes), and when I tell you it was the best hollandaise sauce I've ever had, I am dead serious. The wife had the taquito with chorizo cream sauce, and it was crispy and amazing. We also got an order of the French toast and my goodness...hands down my new favorite French toast. The last time we came I had three different street tacos, and they were all wonderful. The nachos my son had seemed nearly endless, and piled with all kinds of meat and cheese. Ok...now for the drinks. If you dont try the Cognac Alexander for brunch, im calling the police. Wife loved the espresso martinis as well. My favorite one on the menu is the Oaxacan Old Fashioned. It was smokey, sweet, and very complex, and hit every spot. So highly recommend this place that I'd give them 7 stars. Cheers yall, keep...
