Villa Harlequin — Restaurant in Lake Charles

If you haven't been to Villa Harlequin yet, you're missing out on an amazing dining experience!

I went with a friend today for Sunday Brunch, and everything was amazing from the service to the food to the ambiance. Thank you so much to Aly and Matt for ensuring that we recieved the best service possible and our drinks were never empty!

I started off with a virgin Bloody Mary, and I was skeptical at first because I have never ordered a restaurant Bloody Mary as good as the ones I make at home. Y'all, this was SO much better. I'll give it to them. They've got me beat. 😂

We started off with the Arancini, and it was SO good that I forgot to get a picture. They are fried risotto balls served over a jalapeno corn cream sauce. Think of it as a fancy, crispy seafood boudin ball. They had the perfect amount of spice, filled with crawfish and lump crab meat with a sweet sauce under that paired PERFECTLY with the spice. The balance couldn't have been better.

My friend ordered the chicken and waffles, and he said the waffles were perfect. The chicken was nice and crispy. He ate the whole thing. Haha.

I ordered the steak(medium rare) and eggs(over medium) with a crawfish cream sauce over the top. Y'alllllll, I will be thinking about this meal all WEEK. 🤤 The steak was the perfect texture and was cut for me already. It melted in my mouth in the best way. I also have to brag on the house fries. I expected regular cut fries, but they were these amazingly crisp, well seasoned tiny potatoes cut in half and they paired so well with the rest of my meal.

We were discriminated against because we had kids. We arrived shortly after it opened in the morning for breakfast. It was not busy.

We called to ask about food options before heading that way. We arrived and the lady asked if we had reservations. We told them we did not and that when we called they didn’t mention needing one, if it was a deal breaker? She said “that’s okay we will figure it out, it’s not a deal breaker, let me get the hostess.” When the hostess walked up she seemed already annoyed and made a face. I had a feeling it was because we had kids.

She quickly said there isn’t any availability for a few hours. And went to seat another couple.

It was not busy.

Our party left and I stayed to talk to the hostess. I told her she was rude for not even trying to accommodate us. She said she had a table but didn’t think it would work for our party.

So I asked, “is it because we have kids?” And her face said it all. She frowned, hesitated and said “it’s not JUST because you have kids.” I was very disappointed and...

Great restaurant, great service, good food, good drinks!

I really enjoyed this place. It's an excellent restaurant serving great Italian inspired food items as well as great steak and cocktails.

We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share.

I personally ordered a steak and surf dish. The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking as I like it medium rare. Back home in Toronto, Canada, they usually serve a lobster tail or shrimps as the "turf" part. But here, they serve you with lump crab meat with a nice creamy sauce. Oh mine! What a feast! Generous portion of the lump crab meat, the sauce was addictive, the entire meal was in big proportion. I was full right after.
