This is a nice place, they waiters have no clue what so ever what’s is Gluten allergies, they have some options as far as Gluten free but it is swim or sink here with the food allergies, they take FOREVER to serve your food. We ordered at 12:47 pm and it is 1:22pm, we ordered a sandwich and a salad, and we are still waiting to be served. Bottom line, don’t come here if you are in a hurry or have food allergies. We finally got served at 1:27pm
I just read the answer from the owner of this restaurant: Thank you very much, I try as much as I can, within the safe options available a for a person with food allergies to support local business, therefore that’s why I still go to your restaurant, nevertheless it is part of a responsible business owner to educate your staff, imagine if my allergies in particular would have been peanut allergies, or whatever… don’t you think the scenario would have been worse? it is part of the Restaurant business owners to educate staff and know what they can offer or not. FYI, I go to your restaurant and I get the same salad with the same salad dressing and it has been great before, no glutened effect, (so, me, as a Celiac Desease, extremely allergic individual, I know what to order or not) I believe it was a cross contamination in the kitchen, because it has not happened at previous visits. Just as a thought, if you are Have a Celiac Desease and are severely allergic, (I feel sorry for my fellow Celiac Desease peers, it is very insensitive to say “you should know what to order when you go out to a restaurant” because MOST celiac desease individuals know what is good for them, and are not responsible for what happens in a restaurant’s kitchen, unlike you Restaurant owner) At your restaurant that day they were busy getting a “to go” order out before the orders for the patrons sitting at the restaurant. In any case, it was nice and very much appreciated that you issue an apology for the unfortunate event, for the whole Google population to see. Thank...
Read moreLuna Bar & Grill is located at the downtown Lake Charles, convenient spot and located in the lively neighbourhood.
It has a casual vibe, where everyone just wanted to have a good time. It's quite spacious. There are 2 sections, one mainly for drinks near the bar area and the other side is a dining area where people comes and dine for a good meal.
Luna as I was told was voted one of the best restaurant in Lake Charles. And I concur, it has nice list of fresh keg of beers, good specialty cocktails and just good food. The place entirely have food and drinks referencing to music bands and artists.
We ordered a bunch of food to share to start off the night. I personally ordered the yellowfin tuna steak and it was heaven! I was super glad that I did. It was prepared perfectly as the tuna steak should just be medium rare and just simple sear along the pan, the pepper and the marinate outer layer was superb. At $17 USD for this tuna steak? Wow! It also comes with a side, unfortunately, the creamy spinach wasn't my cup of tea, spinach was a bit soggy and was creamy at all, so it can be forgotten.
I also ordered a bowl of crawfish bisque. When you are in Lake Charles, you got to try its craswfish. The crawfish bisque, nice and hot in temperature and the flavour was amazing, a bit of a kicker heat it, it was well-done overall.
We also ordered some cheesecake for dessert, I am not even really a dessert person, but the King cake cheese cake and the pecan and caramel cheesecake was AMAZING!
The ONLY drawback, a minor one was how small the washroom was. For a big bar and restaurant, especially, peeps drinks lot, they need a bigger washroom than a men's stall and an urinal, it's a long wait and the space inside is small.
Highly recommend this place. It's casual, very comfy, good vibe, good service, good people, nice cocktails references, the posters along the wall with vinyl records was...
Read moreWe came in early (9:55am) on Sunday for brunch. We did not realize they didn't open until 10am, but no big deal. Once they officially opened we were seated and our server, Brooke, was really friendly and helped us navigate the menu and any questions we had.
I am a bloody mary girl - so, naturally, I ordered the Cajun Mary. Boy it did NOT disappoint. That Tony Chachere's cajun seasoning on the rim was TOP NOTCH! It was also adorned with "dilly beans" (pickled green beans, YUM!) and some olives.
My friend and I have a thing we do at brunch called, "table toast" we order a french toast for the table to share, then we order our main entrees. I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially if you want to try multiple things.
We also ordered the crawfish toast - holy moly...that was out of bounds delicious. Highly recommend.
Sorry I actually did not take photos of the food... but hopefully description will suffice.
I enjoyed the Omelet Mamou (had to have assistance pronouncing!) It was okay, have to admit I wasn't quite as hungry as I thought, just really want/needed that bloody! But it was great, nothing too fancy but an omelete. The "Cajun hollandaise" that was on top - now that was excellent.
My friends had the Eggs cochon and The Eggs Pontchartrain. I did not try both but I did have a little bit of the crab cake that came with the Pontchartrain...oh man, that was another wonderful experience for my mouth. SO tasty. I would have ordered just the crab cakes if it were an option!
I would highly recommend Luna Bar & Grill to anyone stopping by or who hasn't checked out this...
