So let's be real. I'm from a real city with lots of amenities and museums. For Lake Charles sure this place is fine but it's nothing special on the scale of the USA. Aleast it was free to get in.

They had 3 art galleries and it looked like you could buy most of the pieces. Now there are a few very impressive pieces in the building but overall pretty lackluster.

Aa for the building itself it's preserved pretty well tho lots of fake walls to help with its current function. Also all of the rooms have no signs of what the original purpose was except a conference room that may or may not have been that before.

Overall it's nice to visit once if you're stuck in Lake Charles and have nothing else to do which is...

Oh, I enjoyed every bit of this place! The artwork was brilliant, especially the hyperrealistic car paintings on the 3rd floor. Also, CarolAnn was a very nice young lady who showed me around and told me a bit of detail about the artists. Her energy was magical, and I couldn't help but be enthused by her enthusiasm, lol Definitely check it out if you're in the area! Sometimes, they have events right outside of the building, too. Two days after I visited the paintings there was a car show being held at the same time as the Charlestown Farmer's Market which was a great time! Admission is free, so there is no need to worry about funds unless you'd like to donate. Gracias and...

We had read about the refurbishment of the city hall and were intrigued by it's history. We enjoyed the JFK exhibit which was remarkable simply because many of the photos had been taken by what I presume were amateurs since the photographer was unknown. The gallery highlighting women who had served in Lake Charles' homes was a great tribute to hardworking and faithful people. It's so easy in today's society to overlook the people who are support staff in whatever realm you work or reside Lastly our visit was memorable because the woman who greeted us was warm, friendly, and very professional. Wonderful way to spend a winter...

Historic City Hall was so much fun! More Fun than I expected!. A few team members from work went by on lunch to check out one of the interactive exhibits and O.M.G SO. MUCH FUN! Our curator-Mary Alice was fun, engaging and knowledgeable. I hope the City of Lake Charles continues to bring in unique exhibits that are fun, contemporary and engaging.
