McCann's Tavern — Restaurant in Lake Como

Stopped in for a few drinks and a quick snack and couldn't have been more disappointed. My wife and I sat down at the bar next to someone who turned out to be the only waitress on duty. The bartender and the waitress were apparently sharing a meal (and at least one of them was drinking), and their meal seemed to take priority over all else. At one point, my wife ordered a drink, then waited for the bartender to grab a few bites and chit chat with the waitress before proceeding to make the drink. Ordered some food which took about 40 minutes. The bartender disappeared for a few 5+ minute stretches. Received an eye roll from her when I asked for the check, which was a nice touch.

Lawson's Sip of Sunshine should definitely be a staple for any beer joint, so I was satisfied. Service was very friendly. Had live music playing. Best Steak on the Jersey Shore!! McCann's is a family-run business and our favorite place to take friends and family to on the Jersey shore in Belmar/Lake Como. All my kids love this place. I have 6 kids ranging from 10 to 26 years old 3 biological and 3 adopted and they ALL love the garlic steak with Sicilian fries. I love the seafood dishes. Especially Seafood Royal! The cook and owner is Tommy and his son Tom Jr. also works there. His food is prepared right before your eyes and is excellent! I am a former assistant commissioner of health for New Jersey and president of the New Jersey Public Health association and I give McCann's my highest rating. It is a warm, friendly and fun place and indeed, everyone knows your name! It is a great place to go after hitting the beach or after work. I love this place!! Enjoy!...

Came here a week or so ago to meet up with some friends for prime rib night. The atmosphere is what you get for a local bar. Service was uncomfortable for some of us in the group. Bartender was either intentionally rude or happens to be an akward individual. What really disappointed me was the beer lines are in desperate need of a cleaning and I drank from not just one tap. The food needs a lot of work, I liked the menu selection but everything came out bland with minimal effort. The prime rib was watered down as if it was dipped in hot water and boiled cooked. If your going for a drink not a problem, get bottled though. Other items on the menu may be worth a try as all I ordered was...
