Booked as a last-minute getaway during a pivotal moment of my Journey, The Tandem Bike Inn B&B was a delightful & peaceful place to stay. I chose the 3rd floor suite #5 entitled Breakers Retreat for all those daytime work breaks I never took working for the past 10 years! Located in the exceptionally clean & safe beach community of Bellmawr, New Jersey, The Tandem Bike Inn is within walking distance of the Main street, where there is a multitude of places to eat & shop, & a marina where you might spot an eagle flying or book a whale watch tour through your reservation with the Inn. The proud new owners of this very comfortable & meticulously clean getaway are Dedra & Cord, who are on hand hosts & purveyors & alchemists of a delicious homemade breakfast served inside at one of their dining tables or outside at their intimate tables for 1 or 2 promptly at 9 am. The front porch has 4 comfortable rocking chairs for catching summertime breezes with the friendly folks you just met or enjoying a sudden rain shower. Coffee and tea are provided at the coffee bar. Fresh filtered water and ice are available as well. I was unable to locate a waste bin in this area, but it was always clean. My accommodation had a king size bed, sitting area, a desk, huge wall mounted TV, mini fridge, ceiling fan, individual air-conditioning, a gas fireplace (Oct - April), a black and white tiled bathroom with shower stall, and a jacuzzi tub. Two of Dedra's freshly baked cookies were waiting in my room. However, you can order flowers, chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries, & even a yoga class through their website reservations as an add-on. Early check-in and late checkout may be available as another add-on to your reservation, depending upon bookings. The Inn was fully booked for the evening of my stay. I found the space to be impeccably clean, the towels the hospitality standard white, absorbent, & fluffy. Makeup towel provided for use instead of the white (ifkyk). My water was nice and hot for a soak. Beach tags and towels are provided for your stay during the time you're registered. They have self check in and check out & if you wish to borrow a bike with helmet for a two hr mini cruise down the boardwalk 5 1/2 blocks away you can text the gracious hosts and one will be provided, 1st come 1st served. I also saw beach chairs, umbrellas, and a beach cart registered guests may borrow. No smoking is allowed inside the Inn or on the porch. There are 2 rockers and an ashtray at back for tobacco users. Parking for 3 to 4 guests in their back lot. Parking is usually available on the street close to the Inn. A spigot is by the front to wash sand off your feet. I know you are at the beach. Please be considerate of your host's home and try to get that sand off! Beach was a 5 & 1/2 block walk. Perfect location in a clean town with plenty to do....whether you are out and about or just need a quiet break away from it all, I highly recommend this...

Cord & Dedra, the Tandem Bike Inn owners, are a delightful couple who genuinely treat each guest with the utmost care! Communication is perfect - A set of friendly and detailed instructions prepared in advance for our stay. The Inn is quaint on the outside, lined with beautiful hydrangeas, in a safe neighborhood, well marked and lit, secure with key code entrances and exists. Street parking is available and there are a few marked spots that guests can use down the private driveway by the garage. Cord greeted us with a brief tour and showed us to our very clean, beautifully decorated guest room. The room was cozy with everything we needed and historical charm. The bed was so comfortable, the linens were crisp, the bathroom was clean and the AC and TV worked well. Breakfasts were so incredibly tasty with fine details you would expect of a high-end restaurant -- fresh mint leaves sprinkled on watermelon cubes and cranberries on a salad. I had specified that I did not eat meat and they remembered and made a perfect substitution on my plate. I had my morning coffee on a perfect porch seat and felt pampered beyond belief. For those who care to eat inside, seating is available on a lovely dining room table. We packed in many adventures but would have been just as happy doing much less. One evening we strolled into town (2 blocks), ate some supper and watched the sun set at the marina. On our way back to the Inn, we stopped for delicious ice cream. We enjoyed fun-filled bike rides -- Cord has an assortment of bikes and our first ride to the beach was on on a tandem bike! We used the beach tags that Cord & Dedra provide in every room. The next day we picked out two bikes and took a 15-minute bike ride up the coast to nearby picturesque "Spring Lake", for a stroll and some brunch. We stopped along the way and admired the coastal homes, the hydrangeas that always seem to be in bloom, white beaches, kite surfers, and everything the shore has to offer. We had a phenomenal stay!! 10 out of 10 stars!! We could not have asked for more. Thank you Cord & Dedra, my daughter and I will always remember this stay and we both look forward to...
Read moreI'm not sure how this hotel is only 2-stars, it was seriously one of the best B&B's I've ever been to. I loved it so much.
Owners: Ann Marie and Mike are 2 of the most genuine, sweet, and, frankly, adorable innkeepers I've ever met. I don't know how else to describe it except it's like a children's book where someone's bike breaks in the rain and they find shelter with the nicest couple who makes them hot soup and they end up becoming lifelong friends and go to each other's Thanksgivings every year. That's how I would describe them - you'll get it when you meet them.
Food: Every morning Ann Marie makes breakfast that you can eat on the patio. They even give a 'Breakfast Appetizer' which is like a yogurt with fruit and a homemade pastry BEFORE the breakfast entree. She made this lemon pastry that I'm still dreaming about. Also, every evening when we got back to our room we found a little treat (cookie, brownie, etc) on our door!! So cute! They also have coffee, tea, and some yogurt that you can help yourself to at any point during the day.
Location: Amazing location. Not even 10 minutes to the beach and also just a couple of blocks from the main strip of town. Perfect.
Rooms: The rooms were SO NICE. They looked newly renovated, each had a brand new A/C unit, comfy bed - had everything you need.
They also have beach chairs, towels, tandem bikes, and regular bikes that guests can take out.
Can't say enough amazing things about this place - we're planning to go back in the fall because we loved...
