La Sierra Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Lake Como

The food was good, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was overall excellent. However, I would have appreciated if the server had let me know in advance that returning a drink would still result in being charged for it.

I had ordered a michelada, but when I took a sip it tasted very off and not at all like a proper michelada. I asked the server about it, and she explained the ingredients, which didn’t sound correct. I politely returned it and instead ordered a simple beer. My husband and I stayed, enjoyed our time, and ordered several beers.

When I received the bill, I noticed I was still charged for the michelada. I asked politely about it, and the server explained it was because the drink had already been prepared. I understand that, but the issue for me wasn’t the charge itself, it was the lack of communication. If I had been told that I would be charged regardless, I could have given the drink to my husband instead of letting it go to waste.

I still paid the full bill and even left an 18% tip. My concern is not about the money, but about ensuring clear communication...

The owner or manager is very rude! Maybe he is racist! I was at the bar today, was having a good time! I brought my laptop, as usual, I like to work while I am at any restaurant. I had some good conversation with a guy next to me. I was telling him how I visited Mexico and stuff! We were getting to know each other.

They owner said to me, “this is you last drink” I asked him why, he said “you talk too much”. I wasn’t even talking to any body else!

Then another lady came up and apologize and said “I am sorry, he doesn’t mean it, we just need to make room for other people”

Well if you want to make room for other people, start by asking the people that have been here the longest! That’s not what they did! I mention the racism part of it because I think I was the only black at the restaurant...

This was the worst dining experience ever. Despite reading 4.5-star reviews, eating here was a regrettable decision.

Service was incredibly slow—waiting an hour for basic tacos and enchiladas, and another 25 minutes for drinks, despite the restaurant not being busy as they claimed.

The servers were rude, and the owner was the worst—he didn’t even acknowledge our table when we called out to him. Half of the servers claimed they couldn't understand English, which was unacceptable.

As for the food: The chicken tacos were decent. However, the chicken mole enchiladas were awful; the sauce tasted bitter.
