Mashtun Brewing — Restaurant in Lake Geneva

OK this place was really nice and cozy, had really tasty beers( the lake life was my favorite!) BUT HOLY SH*T THE GRILLED CHEESE WAS THE STAR! I was not expecting anything superb out of the food options, but it truly was what we were talking about after we left..... We got the Gebano grilled cheese and split it, it was really quite big. Had some special jam or something from a mushroom farm nearby(we were just passing through the area and weren't familiar) which really helped send this to the next level.

The owner was the only one working and we were the only guests there so it was nice to chat with him too( we visited around noon on a Wednesday) They had a big TV there too- so go catch a game on a Sunday afternoon and enjoy a cold beer, and then eat the best grilled cheese you've had in a long damn time....

Walked in and there were 3 other people at the bar. Bartender never even looked up or acknowledged our presence even a teensy bit. I don't need a big welcome mat but a little nod or glance would be cool. Cute and clean place. Tried a flight of our favorites and whoa, what a disappointment. Not much flavor and the flavor they did have was not great. Would maybe give them another shot and try a couple...

Wowzers… down to earth brewer with SUPERB beers. Porter, IPAs and everything in between. Drool. I got a flight, and my lunch mate got a pint. We each enjoyed a fantastic fresh-made sammich… We kept ordering from the chalkboard, one 5 oz. at a time… we will be back as soon as humanly possible....
