Welcome to the neighborhood! I am so excited for an Asian restaurant to be so close to my home. I live in Lake Hallie, but work in Altoona and the best thing going for Chopsticks this location, location, location! It's smack-dab at the Nexus of our blossoming community, as well as being within either walking distance or a small drive to at least one hotel, a Walmart Supercenter, an Aldi grocery store, Kwik Trip (which has a redbox), and at least two fast food restaurants. It's also close to a major highway which connects the valley and beyond. You can stand virtually anywhere in this section of Lake Hallie and feel you need nothing because you already have it. It's part of a strip mall that includes a fitness center and a place to satisfy gamers of all ages while you get your hair done. I love all manner of Asian food and I also love spicy. The hotter, the better. You can't scare me! I also love the small and quaint, which Chopsticks is. There's four table settings and at least two high chairs for infants and small children. They have lunch specials for fast ordering, as well as online ordering for even faster pick up! They also have an alphanumeric system for a quick referencing. On the takeout menu, they have a website for viewing an online menu and you can order with credit cards or debit cards. No checks. Even have a spot to scan with your smartphone. I don't want to tell you too much about their menu items because you need to see it for yourself, but they have Udon(stir fry), Kung Pao, Moo goo gai pan, Thai curry, and combo platters. I can already smell the delicious culture inside and I can't wait to warm up and introduce myself. You should too. I've never gone to a restaurant on opening day, but I was so excited to try this place, so I placed an online order on their first day. When I went to pick it up, the place was packed! My order hadn't been seen yet, thus wasn't ready. I didn't have time to wait, so I said I'd be back in 2 hours. When I went back, they were still really busy and couldn't find my order. When they finally did, they apologized and gave me the meal for free! Very friendly staff, they were working really hard to serve everyone as quickly as possible.

As for the food: We ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce, honey chicken combo with pork fried rice and egg roll, chicken Mai Fun, and fried wontons. Everything was delicious! Some of the best wontons I've had! Honey chicken sauce was amazing, and the chicken was tender and not at all chewy or grisly. My son was thrown off by the shrimp with lobster sauce, as it came in a large container and was the consistency of soup. Not sure if this is normal or not, I don't care for seafood. He said it tasted great though, so I'll take his word for it!

We will definitely be back to try more dishes, I'm so happy to finally have a quality Chinese restaurant right in my backyard. I hope the business continues to be as popular as it was...

I placed an order at 8:08pm, paid for my order and had to run an errand. I specifically told them I would return when I asked them the wait time.

As I was coming back to pick up my food which took me much longer than I anticipated being gone but I still arrived at the restaurant at exactly 8:56pm the entire restaurant was closed.

Not a single employee available, all the lights were shut off, no one even available as in cleaning up the establishment, completely gone and locked up. I tried to call the restaurant and got no answer.

I still made it to the restaurant before they were closed, paid for my order and had a takeout placed.

I have never been to a restaurant in which they are closed and long gone before their store hours of operation.

I will never go back to this establishment. Worst service for any restaurant to be closed before there operation hours. False advertising for consumers. This is very wrong for any restaurant to do...
