We arrived while traveling through town (we’re Wisconsin natives but not from Chippewa Falls). Hours of operation are posted until 10pm. Having worked in service, I am usually quite careful to be out by closing time. They had shut off the lights in the dinning room while we were eating and didn't bother to walk around prior to shutting down the custard machine to ask if anyone wanted any last custard order to just be polite and considerate of the people eating at the establishment. At 10:02 PM exactly, my husband went up to the counter to get my children’s free little scoop of ice cream that comes with their kids meals to go. Our table was getting cleared off by my myself and our kiddos. He was told that no ice cream was going to be sold or dispensed under any circumstances. He made a polite appeal that we were on our way out the door and it was in fact 10:02 pm. The manager refused and walked away in front of our crying children. I then asked, and was told that the custard machine was taken apart before 10 pm, and again, no ice cream. The manager the. Walked away. I don’t often write reviews, but this was quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever encountered at a Culvers - and quite possibly ever. It’s one thing if someone walks in and orders a meal 5 minutes to close. It’s another if a couple of very young children are asking for a small treat (that comes with their meal anyway), right at closing time. Culvers has lost its compass as a hometown family get together restaurant. With having prior knowledge since I used to work at a culvers - you do not have to ring in the kids tokens. All you have to do is rip them, throw them in the trash and grab the custard. That's all. Didn't offer anything. Just sad...
So we went to McDonald's instead.... and guess what... their ice cream machine was...

Order at the speaker and the employee told me to move forward before I was finished/ then the total she said out loud was $10 more than what it said on the screen.
I asked to at the window about the total to confirm and she glares at me and said. “Lady are you going to pay or not” I looked at the receipt after and the total was correct.
However she handed me my drinks I thanked her I order a cone with a scoop of the day. And she told me “ you cone is gonna be a minute pull up to the cone over there I have other customers rn.”
She had shut the window on me. And never gave me a number to put on my mirror. I had to knock on the window. She opened and yelled. “Lady you need to pull up do you understand that” in a condescending tone. I asked politely for a number for my order. She grew it out of the window. I had to open my door to grab it off the ground.
When I got my cone it was completely melted . I went inside to ask for a refund and they refused to give me one.
I have never had this much disrespect from any fast food not even...
Read moreThe Hallie Culver’s is a hot mess. While the food is good, we have had issues nearly every time we’ve gone there with long wait times, forgotten food, and confused employees. The latest incident was after I ordered my food to go, I put the food in my car and remembered my wife wanted a cheese sauce. So I went back in to purchase said sauce. They took my money, then gave me a number to wait for my sauce, mind you, it wasn’t busy and I literally walked right up to the counter to order. After waiting for 15 minutes as employees stood around, I went up to the counter again to ask for my sauce. They finally gave it to me, I then went back to my car and drove home to enjoy my now cold food and melted ice cream. They can’t seem to get anything right. Never had issues at any of the other Chippewa...
