48 Hours in Lake Havasu - bookmark and share for your next getaway! Lake Havasu City is about 3.5 hours from Phoenix (3 hours from Flagstaff, 5 hours from Tucson), and is located on the beautiful Lake Havasu along the Colorado River. This town offers numerous activities year round, and has been one of our favorite getaway spots! Here is a quick list of places we’ve enjoyed. What To Do: Lake Havasu Museum of History (free) Walk across London Bridge (free) Visit a couple of the 28 lighthouse replicas (free) Rotary Community Park/Skatepark - beach access too (free) Lake Havasu City Aquatic Center Mesquite Park splash pad (free) Hike SARA’s Crack, mini slot canyon (free) Explore at Bill Williams Rive National Wildlife Refuge (free) Explore at Castle Rock (free) Also, it’s not cheap ($500/4hrs), but if you can swing a boat rental, HIGHLY recommend this adventure! We’ve used Havasu Rentals (pontoon, jet ski & kayak rentals) twice now and it’s been SO FUN to explore the lake. Swimming in May was awesome too! www.watercrafthavasurentals.com. 928-412-9248 Where To Stay: @azstatepark has cabins right on the lake Travelodge by Wyndham Lake Havasu Also heard good things about @londonbridgeresort and @nauticalresort Where to Eat: The Chair PZA Pizzeria The Red Onion Scoops Homemade Ice Cream Wild Coffee Side Street Coffee Black Bear Diner Fat Sub Rebel BBQ Chao Praya Thai Food Donut Post Questions? I absolutely loved these old fashioned hand made donuts! Wow!!! You can’t get this at big brand stores. I’m visiting lake Havasu from New York and travel quite frequently and have to say that Lynn the owner took the time to answer a few of my “out of towner” questions and I loved the friendly customer service. Get there early before they sell out!

Our favorite donut spot in town! They were so great putting together over 2 dozen donuts for my daughter's birthday. If you haven't tried the blueberry donut or the huge apple fritter, add them to your list next time you go!

When I first walked in to the donut shop it had a great atmosphere that was until I was rudely yelled at by a man about shutting the door and I don't pay the air conditioning- while yes I absolutely agree there was a nicer way to ask than yelling. The lay behind the counter never said one word to me she just stared at me rolling her eyes it was very awkward. Upon ordering I was trying to keep track of my dozen I was counting and to double check I asked her how many were left. With a HUGE eye roll and sigh she responded with a sarcastic "3" .... ok thanks .... honestly the donuts were amazing and the place was cute but I will be finding another donut shop in town to attend on the regular, I don't appreciate rude people especially when I was attempting to be considerate and nice back. Will never be going back...

Every time we’ve stop in they are very rude! It’s like they hate customers. If the donuts were great it’d be worth it but for stale, not even decent donuts... ??

Thought it was a rare incidence so tried a year later, nope, same rudeness. I always forget about just hitting the grocery stores, they make fresh donuts and always good service at Bashas! Well with us finally having a Dunkin Donuts in town, this shop will no longer be forced to serve us or anyone for that matter. I doubt anyone will stop by and be treated poorly for stale donuts again. We always give the small business our money, but it comes a time when you have to stand up for customer...

I can't imagine the other reviewers are lying, but I must attest that their experiences are unusual. I've been stopping in the Donut Post for over 4 years now and still find it to be among the best donut shops in the country (yes, the country). I travel constantly and have eaten donuts in about 75% of all the United States. The Donut Post in Havasu remains my favorite year after year.

I lived in Portland for a long time and admit that the famous VooDoo Donuts are incredible, but, believe it or not, I'd still take a maple bar from this place over VooDoo any day.

The proprietor is a lovely host and her donuts are top notch. 100%...
