Flame Broiler — Restaurant in Lake Havasu City

Updated review from March 3, 2025 visit: I suggest they change their name to "Flame Burner"! Horribly burned up meat! This is not a fresh cooked-to-order restaurant. The meats are cooked hours before they open and grilled up again later right before it's served. Our chicken was charcoaled, complete chunks of black soot included in my plate and served up burnt to a crisp. It was so bad that I had black burnt chunks of charcoal in-between my teeth after trying to eat around it. How could they serve this garbage?! It's no wonder because looking at their grill it had over an inch high of burned crap everywhere on it. I doubt they've cleaned it in months or maybe more than a year by the looks of it. My husband said we would have walked out if we had seen their nasty dirty grill before we ate their food. They don't care about serving their burnt black meat because they refuse to throw any of it out. Her excuse was that their employee in the early morning had burned much of the meat and that she would have a talk with him. No refund offered. She gave me some replacement chicken for the large pile of burnt meat we had to pull out of all three plates we bought. I've taken a photo of what she gave me which was supposed to be the better chicken that wasn't as burnt as what we were initially given. It's $15 for a Chicken plate and we bought three of them so we could have left-overs. They've done this before. They're not about to waste any meat by throwing away their ruined chicken. If it's burned that's not their problem and you're just going to pay for it! My husband says that's it for him. He says we're never going back. He got really sick from it later that night. Where is their owner with them serving this kind of food and a horribly filthy grill that could get them in huge trouble with the Health Department?! Eating burnt Charcoal is a carcinogen. It's a shame because they have a great otherwise healthy menu. This restaurant had excellent tasty food when they were first opened. This place isn't what it used to be?! Not sure why? But my bf & I both agreed that it's really not what it used to be! Their prices seem to have increased as well & their bowls just don't taste as good as they used to?! It's really quite sad, especially since it's really about the only somewhat healthy place for a quick bite to eat! This is pretty disappointing for flame broiler, this used to be our 1st choice for lunch/dinner options that was a "kind of fast food, yet still so yummy it didn't matter"choice for both of us! Now it seems to not even make the cut for either of us when it comes to our list of dining options! Maybe they need to invest in some better quality meat/veggie products or perhaps some different form of seasonings (going back to whatever it was they were cooking with last year would be my high recommendation!) Taking risks like this regarding ANY type of change with their products/prices is not a bright idea & could potentially be detrimental for their business! Get it together, Flame Broiler, QUICK! Healthy eating mixed with unhealthy sanitary practices. On Tuesday, 2/17, a gentleman brought his half eaten bowl back to counter stating it wasn't what he ordered. There were several other orders that got mixed up and returned, but staff never threw returned meals in garbage. I witnessed the cook adding chicken and vegetables to the bowls that customers returned. I ordered 2-bowls and one was one of the recycled meals.
