Del Taco — Restaurant in Lake Point

First off, let me say that I love Del Taco and I will always love Del Taco. I grew up in Irvine, CA where Del Taco's HQ is and I grew up claiming on every hill as a kid standing tall with the viewpoint that Del Taco was better than Taco Bell in every way. In addition, let me say that in the earlier years of my career I worked in the restaurant business for years working all the way from guest service agent, host, customer service agent or whatever you want to call it all the way to running a restaurant in management. I will also add that I moved to Utah and now reside locally in Tooele County so I have frequented this store many many times.

With all that, I will never return to this location

In the beginning, I thought it was me. I have a family that also loves Del Taco so we get large orders of maybe 8-12 items. With those orders, maybe 1 or 2 things were missing.

So, what did I do?

I ordered less. Because life happens in the food industry; So, I get it.

Now let's say now I ordered 6-8 items and maybe only one item was missing or maybe it wasn't the greatest quality. I moved on. I love Del Taco and it didn't bother me, because I was getting mostly what I ordered at least.

Today, was actually a special day. Long story short, my wife and I have a close relationship with Del Taco symbolically as when we couldn't afford anything, we had something to eat at least. We were going to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary with Del Taco. Today, I ordered 6 items. Firstly, it was odd that the order wasn't read back to me, but I thought nothing of it. Then I paid, received my food and went home.

100% of the order was wrong. All of it. Nothing was correct. In fact only 2 items were even the correct protein.

I don't know if this location needs a complete overhaul or new management, but it's an absolute disaster.

I am disappointed, angry and honestly a little heartbroken. Now it will have to be an extra trip to get Del Taco, not just something Daddy can bring...

Amazingly, the food is simultaneously affordable - as the founders of the company have sought out to make not only the most incredible food experience known to mankind, but have also aimed to make the experience accessible and egalitarian. 5 of 5 stars is the highest rating I can give, and yet on some level it feels like a slap in the face to this remarkable organization - a company which has created a food experience so phenomenal it would make God himself weep...

Mid day stop. Traveling. Family of four. I gave four stars because the food was great. However, the food was slow to come out. They are training pretty much everyone that is working also why a four not lower due to delay of food. Due to training of the staff they were slightly backed up and the table were slightly dirty. I cannot take away stars knowing that they are training many staff members. During our wait we seen only one Customer come back due to something wrong with their order. For training that's pretty good quality of food. It is a small parking area; however, because their is a diesel truck tire shop directly behind the restaurant there is ample street parking. Pulling our enclosed trailer we had no issues. Best of luck with training new employees. You all did great while we were there!!!
