I would like to start by saying that I LOVE this place. The first time I had it I was in love. I got a fried catfish steak dinner. Between the sauce and the unexpected hush puppies, I was in heaven and knew I was hooked. However, my last experience at this place was less than pleasant. I called in an order around 8:15 pm that was still not ready by 9 AND it was wrong. I got to I-57 and went to pay for my order. I was dryly greeted by a woman who asked for my order. As I told her and proceeded to try and pay, she told me that she was not the cashier and that the cashier was in the bathroom. Working in retail over the years, I can understand not ringing on others registers, so I waited for the cashier. This took about 10 minutes. In the meantime, the lady standing at the registered asked if I ordered catfish steaks or fillets. I told her steaks (My boyfriend called in the order so im guessing it was never confirmed, however, to prevent wrong orders, I would think they would ask that). However, she advised that they werent aware and they made fillets, so because I was hungry and didnt place the order myself, I didnt make a big deal of if. Once the cashier did finally make her way to the front, I hear the lady standing there say "her order was wrong, she wanted steaks". The cashier replies back "okay, and what am I supposed to do about that"? I guess once she noticed my demeanor change as I walked closer to the glass to pay, she realized that I could hear her through the glass and then states "oh, oh no, she must have forgot to ask for that, its no problem, we can make another". I say, "no, ur actually supposed to confirm that when taking the order. Steaks or Fillets". Anyway, overall, I enjoyed my food, however, employees could be a bit more professional. Read moreI am very disappointed on the service I received here yesterday. I came in waiting to place my order it took about 30 mins to just place an order. After placing and paying for my order It took an hour for them to pass my number. There were plenty of people upset on the ordering system here I notice customers complaining that they preordered by phone and still waited over an hour to get their food because they were informed that even if u ordered by phone they start making your food once you paid. I was some what worried but nonetheless I already paid for my food but I became more upset about them surpassing me yet again after a small rush of handing out orders I was passed again I was ticket 39 and the woman at the register calls out number 38,40,41 I still remained calm and asked if they had my order I showed the ticket and noticing the lady at the register taking a new order and than later on after waiting another 20 minutes she gets her order so I asked that this new order was clearly well after my order why haven't my food arrived... I than asked for my money back and the woman at the register asked me what did I order... I told her I have my ticket in my hand its number 39. She should be able to know what I order by giving her that number she walked away from me upset and didn't want to give me my money. Read moreSomebody lying. I never leave reviews but I had to leave one today. I was told they had good food here. I order a wing/rib combo. I live 10 mins away got home had 4 wings and literally 4 tips. So I called to let them know because I didn’t think it was fair. I was very kind and polite. I asked to speak to a manager. She was so rude to me and didn’t care the fact that I asked for my ribs to be chopped up fine and they gave me 4 ribs. After giving me a hard time. She’s like you can come back and get a mini tip and hung up the phone. I was like wow. Let me go up here and talk to her and maybe warm her up show her my food and get her to calm down. Get there, she didn’t even come to the front to greet me. She sent another worker to the front with my food. This is why people don’t want to eat at black establishments. It’s the people they put on the forefront to work it. You must get professional people. I wouldn’t have came all the way back if I was trying to get over. I came back because I paid my money for food and expected to get what I paid for. I won’t say my food was bad. But the customer service and manager SUCK! Im not even eating the mini tip because the way I was treated I don’t even know if she did something to it. Whomever owns this establishment, please reevaluate your staff. I know it’s hard to get people to work. Don’t put people in front of your business whose going to run it in the ground. Try until you find the right professional person to be the face.
