The place was freezing. I will never return. I ordered my food with an order to go. The order to go was a Chicken Jibarito with white rice/beans. The inhouse order was Steak Jibarito with Arroz con gandules. When my food arrived it had white rice I told my waitress I ordered AG she said yes you did, she went back to the cooks said something then came back and said there's nothing she can do. I said I would like Arroz con gandules and she bought me a plate (I was charge 4.50 by the way) since it was their mistake I don't think I should have been charged. Next there were 9 of us we asked for the bill so we could just divide the bill by 9 since we all basically ordered the same thing. We were told we had to pay individually which is fine but we didn't get a bill so they rang up each order separately, when I paid my bill I noticed I was charged 4.50 for the rice plus a service fee of $5.50 and a tip of $7.22 so I asked what was the service fee of $5.50 for and they said it was the tip since there was 9 of us. So half of us added the tip not realizing they already charged us the tip and since you are not giving a bill you can not see the charges until afterwards. And to top it off its a combined bill with all the other 9 orders so you have to divide your portion to figure out what you are paying for. It was absolutely ridiculous. One of the girls paid cash and left a cash tip but after reviewing her bill she thought she was being billed a service fee (like credit card fee which everyone else thought too) but she paid cash. That is when we found out it was the tip included so everyone was paying double tips. This place is a total ripoff!!! If you go there check your bill...
Read moreThe restaurant is nice and clean, the mural is beautiful, but it's a little bright, small table section. We went last week in the evening and couldn't even get in. The tables were all taken, and the carry out line was to the door, we left, but came back today. We were there as soon as they opened. The server was super friendly, and we just told him my allergies in general, one being avocado, and he remembered. My husband's plate had it and mine did not, and we ordered basically the same dish. Everything was delicious. For appetizers we had fried pork on a stick, pinchos ,without the barbecue sauce, he said it had pineapple. Brian tried it with the hot sauce, I used just a little salt, it was so good! Then our second appetizer was a Puerto Rican tamale, so flavorful, I think it's my new favorite kind of tamale. Then our entrees. I had mofongo lechon, mofongo with pulled pork. The pork was amazing by itself, the best I've had, and then the mofongo and the sauce to pour over, I was literally dancing in my seat, it was soo tasty. My husband had mofongo with shrimp and octopus in sauce, his was just as delicious, I tried it. Amazing!! On both plates they had lettuce with tomato, and on his a slice of avocado, because of my allergies. The salad did break up the richness of it all. He had a Malta India, and I had kola champagne, both a type of pop. For dessert we each had our own tembleque, a coconut flan with cinnamon on top. This is absolute heaven if you like coconut like me. Everything was amazing and delicious and honestly, for all that we got and the quality, the price was great. I would highly recommend this place!!! We will be back, they'll probably get...
Read moreThe food here, (which is the most important reason to do a review) is absolutely amazing! My wife and I have been getting food from here since the day they opened this location. And in the past 6 months, we've probably ordered at least twice a week. My wife's mother's side of her family is from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and we order from this restaurant when her side of the family comes over (and sometimes we pick it up when we go over there) and they are also very impressed with it every time. And THAT is saying a lot as they are meticulous in their judgment of Puerto Rican food. I absolutely love the lechon ( roasted pork) jibarito and get it ( with avocado and extra aho (garlic) ) every time we order. I also almost always get a pound of the lechon and an order of tostones (smashed fried plantains) with extra aho as well, to have for lunches the following day. My wife thinks it's amazing too and this is coming from someone who doesn't eat a lot of meat. But SHE especially loves their pasteles and shrimp mofongo, as well as their other shrimp dishes. We've also gotten many other items from there and are always happy with them. Just know, that they are always quite busy, because their food is SO good, and during prime dining hours, they get REALLY busy, which can sometimes cause a delay (naturally) in how quickly your order can be prepared. BUT, they haven't messed up our order once and the quality of the food is...
