My family has lived on the same street as lacocos for years. We have given an absurd amount of business to them over the years between a quick dinner, to celebrations in the hall they have, catering parties and bringing people from outside of the neighborhood to them. The food is decent, but the service is HORRIBLE, and not worth me supporting any longer. I have never really experienced it first hand, it's always been neighbors or other family members. Today, I get to my mothers house around 8pm to pick my son. I can't find any parking on the street because two delivery drivers are parked there. Lacocos has a parking lot, they also have signs up reserved for drivers only. The owner, Anthony, has also paid money to have a section of the street right outside the restaurant to have no parking for a certain time. Those spots were empty. I have to park around the block, and then walk through an alley to get to my mothers. I call Lacocos because the owner has previously said that his drivers won't park on the street, but in the driveway, or lot. The manager gets on the phone, and there is no introduction. I explain him to what's going on, and he said ok. I go outside twenty minutes later, and the drivers are still there. With the parking lot, and blocked off parking still empty. I call back, and again no introduction. I have to ask his name. Bob, was extremely rude. He told me that the drivers can park where ever they want, and I can wait till they move to park my car. He also told me I'm petty, that he is busy, and when I explained how me and my family have been customers for years he had the nerve to ask me "well, are you going to order now?" It wasn't till my mother got on the phone, and had to threaten to call the liquor control commissions about their liquor renewal that he agreed to have the drivers move. Still then only one driver moved. The owner himself has promised the residents that this will not happen. This has happened multiple times before, but never handled in such a disrespectful manner. To be spoken to so rudely by someone who is called a manager and no regard for the neighborhood is absolutely appalling. Walking through an alley late at night is a safety concern, and I or anyone else on the block should not have to do that because a delivery driver doesn't want to park in the multiple places designed for them to park. I will no longer be supporting this neighborhood restaurant/bar. I will make sure I let everyone know that this establishment is disrespectful, and rude. I will also make sure that any time there is a fight, or unnecessary noise coming from its bar it will be reported...

Read moreMy husband and I decided to take our 5 children to La cocos , it’s our kids favorite place and a family thing we’ve been doing for years. We’ve always felt welcome and taken care off. Today that has changed for my family and I. While my children and I were in the patio eating, my kids went on to look and like any child tried touching the rock in the fire pit. I of course knew it was off. And there was no risk of them getting hurt. As I get a phone call and pick up I realize that a white older male started screaming at my kids, and started yelling profanities at them. My husband was at the bar during this time so I got up and I told him to back off. He continued to now yell at me, call me out of my name, and point his finger to my face as I was carrying my new born baby. The Waiter and another lady visiting your establishment came and helped me and the security guy kept trying to take the guy. The guy wouldn’t stop and of course I yelled back. I was asked if I wanted them to get my husband but of course I said no as I was trying to avoid a bigger conflict. I decide to leave because I was shaken, frighten and my emotions were all over the place. I thought the man was escorted out of the building, I thought that would be the right thing to do. Turns out he was just taken to the bar. I felt very disappointed and I felt invalidated of what had just occurred. I no longer felt welcomed and no longer felt like LaCoco’s was a safe space for my family. I’ve celebrated countless birthdays for my babies there. But as of today I’m saddened it won’t happen again. I don’t believe there was a reason for a man who verbally assaulted a woman with her babies should have had the right to stay there. But yet he was. I hope that if this were to ever happen again it be taken more serious against a person who jeopardizes a clients...
