Came in on a cloudy Friday morning wanting to try a new breakfast place. Theres a nice little patio out front and the interior is like an old cozy diner. We were seated immediately inside. First thing i noticed is all the antic looking art they have on the walls, it sets up a nice atmosphere. Upon sitting at our table, we were greeted with a friendly waiter and these adorable little pastries, one for each of us. They were in the shape of a sailor hat and had some sugar and glaze on top. I was delightfully surprised to find them to not being too sweet, and had a gentle, fluffy bite to them. Then we ordered drinks - I got plain black coffee, it was a good blend but nothing to write home about. Then we got our food - I ordered the Chilaquiles, as I was really craving some. The presentation was nice and the portions were generous. I really enjoyed the salsa that came on it, as it had a nice roasted flavor and just the right kick. I was a little disappointed it didn’t have as much salsa in proportion to the chips, as some chips did not have any. The eggs were also decent as well, a little over cooked. Everything else was there and overall it was a decent dish. I loved the side of fruit that came with it, that was so cute and the fruit was fresh. My friends got the eggs benedict and a breakfast burrito, and my oh my they looked so ever tasty. They enjoyed their food a lot. The service was quick, as our food did not take long to come out, and our waiter was on top of things. In the end, I was excited to try this place and enjoyed my experience but felt I need to come back and try it again to get the full picture, as it fell a bit short for me. With the wide variety of menu options and affordable prices, I could see myself...

We were visiting Chicago from Pittsburgh and looking for a good brunch spot. This is one of the most enchanting breakfast joints I’ve been to—and that’s saying something.
We went on a Thursday afternoon (brunch time) and it wasn’t busy. Perfect! We were sat quickly with a small dish of chocolate chip coffee cake, a sweet touch.
The waiter was fun and bubbly, while being informative and helpful. He kindly answered all of our questions, even with a few “dad jokes” thrown in. My favorite! He was masked, which was much appreciated. We started with water and coffee. These were filled consistently and the coffee was great! Off to a great start…
I had the French Toast with syrup and a side of Chicken Sausage. My friend got the standard breakfast (eggs, meat, potato, etc.). The portions were big and filling—the value was great for the price. The French Toast was phenomenal: fluffy, perfectly browned and dusted with powdered sugar. AND it was served with good maple syrup, not the flavorless sugar water you find at some places.
Meals were served with a fresh fruit cup and it was good too, not mushy and overripe. Everyone enjoyed their food.
As a visitor to the city, I’d recommend this spot to anyone coming through. Thanks for adding some color (and tasty eats)...
Read moreA friend and I chose Tweet for a catch-up session and advice givings for the busy-bumpy times life throws at you. Whilst ( I love that word ) we discussed some seriously important things, our impromptu brunch definitely definitely gave us a great replenishment of physical fortitude and was also a great emotional support and comfort.
Our coffee was always poured at the perfect moment (the servers must be living in the flow, the harmony and timing of their visits is always superb). I can't recall what my friend had, but I enjoyed one of the best plates of french toast I have ever had in my life; it was deliciously hot as was the syrup which complimented the coolness of the whipped butter (french toast only ever deserves whipped butter, NEVR slabs. )
I opted for a side of sweet bacon which I had suddenly found an obsession for. It was perfect, my friend kept commenting on what a great assembly nutrition and deliciousness can make when done with awareness and love. We definitely felt that sense that the chefs and staff there really love their clients. With our need for food fully satisfied, pleasant exchanges with staff and other patrons and also enough privacy to have personal conversation, you can easily see why Tweet will be around for a very long time.
Thanks again for a...
