El Carrisal Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lakeland

Arrived at 6:50pm, waited 10 minutes only to be sat at a dirty table ( dishes and chip crumbs included). My wife and I cleaned the table off then, the waiter comes to take our drink orders. He couldn't identify one of the cocktails on the menu which was not actual listed with a description. Disappointed, my wife gets a tea and I get a coke. 7:05pm we place our order. 7:30pm, 3 separate parties of 3 came in and we're seated and served their drinks and food by 7:45pm. The waiter comes back to the table at 7:55pm to tell us it will be 10-15 more minutes before we are served our meals. At this point, our impatient 3 year old has now gotten restless and 10 year old has also begun to lose her patience. 8:15pm, we finally get part of our order. The kids tenders were brick cold and hard thus, my 3 year old refused them, I ordered a steak fajitas meal, got more bell peppers and onions than there was steak and what little steak that was actually there ways cooked to the consistency of leather and served with rice and beans. I've been there several times and they were pretty good but I went yesterday and everything was awful I ordered enchilada dinner and the waitress didn't even ask me what kind I wanted chicken beef or cheese and she walked away and when my order arrived I had cheese enchiladas when I complained she said I should have specified what kind of enchilada is and in return I said you should have asked me what kind. I also asked for mild salsa because the salsa they gave me was way too spicy for my liking and she brought me back something that resembled a bowl of water with a dab of ketchup in it it was absolutely horrible. I am very disappointed because I have always liked this place in the past and when I was checking out she stated sorry but the owner is off duty today and everybody is riding my case. Boy, if his business goes down the drain just because he's not there like it did yesterday I feel sorry for the owner. I will drive the 30 mi to Valdosta next time to get better Mexican food. This place USED to care about their patrons... NOT ANYMORE. Tried to place a 'to go' order the other day, and after letting the phone ring for about 7 times, the owner finally picks up the phone. I tell him I want to place an order, and he says, "Just a sec", and proceeds to put the phone down on the counter. I literally sat on hold for over 5 minutes, and got tired of waiting. I tried calling back 4 or 5 other times over the next 10 minutes, each time to a busy tone. FINALLY, after 15 minutes of trying to get through, I get the owner again, who proceeds to excuse his rudeness by telling me he got busy and forgot... no apology... nothing.
