china 1 — Restaurant in Lakeland

I visited this establishment about 2 days ago after visiting the majestic "Banks Lake Nature Preserve" in Lakeland Georgia. My girlfriend told me that the place had been open for twenty years, so I figured, why not? Big mistake on my behalf! Being my first time there, I inquired of the owner, what was their specialty? The female Chinese woman confidently stated "Sesame chicken or general Tso's" Seeing as I love General Tso's I took the owners recommendation and chose that option. Upon examination of the chicken, I noticed an artificial red colored sauce as well as an artificial putrid smell. Upon tasting the monstrosity, I was equally repulsed as it had an artificial disgusting taste. To make things worse, the chicken tasted pre-frozen and was overcooked. The sauce tasted like an imitation Chinese jam. I could tell that nothing was fresh and this general Tso was an imposter. To substantiate my claims allow me to expound on what a superlative general Tso should be...First you need to make the plum sauce from scratch with fresh plums and sugar making a reduction. To add kick use fresh diced spicy red peppers and lastly use fresh fried chicken pieces. The aforementioned is the abridged version as a little more goes into it. I can picture a sketchy Chinese factory producing this poisonous, artificial, insipid syrup with no regulations nor concern for human health, slapping a sticker on it that reads "General Tso's" in Chinese lettering and shipping it oversees to unsuspecting Americans. Egregious, duplicitous and downright distasteful! By far the worst General Tso's chicken I have ever eaten in my entire life! To make things even worse, I was constipated 2 days afterwards with stomach discomfort. I begrudgingly tried to feed it to my dog and the dog wouldn't even touch it...it was that bad. This by far the worst Chinese place I have ever eaten it.. And I have eaten at over a 100 different Chinese restaurants The Lemon pepper wings had no lemon or no pepper at all...justv Plain and oiily...fried rice was just some BOILED rice seasoned LIGHTLY... it was enough oil/grease in my plate to fry another batch of wings..shrimp was so tiny it was hard to tell it was actually shrimp..egg roll was HUGE amd over fried..and when I seen it I knew the food was about to be garbage before I opened the plate....only gave 1 star cause Google don't allow 0 stars...they owe a few stars..they in...

I used to like this place. As of 6 months ago the place has become TERRIBLE. General TSO's was hard and chewy. I couldn't even eat it. The rice tasted as if it say in the pan for 20 minutes and it wasn't fluffy or able to be eaten with chopsticks. I am sorry but not sorry. I am personally glad I left the state.
