M&B Wings & Things — Restaurant in Lakeland

It literally hurts me to write this review because I’m all for black businesses but my cousin stopped in here it was our first time trying this place and will definitely be our last, first off waiting 39 minutes for fresh food isn’t a problem for us so this review isn’t based off wait time. When we received our food after waiting 39 minutes it took us 10 minutes to get home meaning there is no reason for cold corn IF it was freshly steamed, my cousin called to let them know the corn was freezing and she was told well your order was placed an hour ago so that makes since for it to be cold, well even after anyone places an order you still have to wait 39 minutes for the food 10 minutes to get home! The lady said plain as day said well when it came out the microwave it was hot they warm the corn up in the microwave! We all heard her because it was speakerphone my cousin then said but I ordered steamed corn not microwave corn she say no we steamed it( at this point the conversation is becoming pointless) needless to say wings had no flavor philly steak was flavorless as well this was very disappointing and all I wanted was to have nothing but good things to say about this place but...

When we came in we were the only customers at that time. My fries were cold. Instead of our food being served at the same time, my dinner wasn't brought to the table till several minutes after my husband's. His salad was brought out just after his dinner instead of before the meal as it should have been. My toasted sandwich was burnt and felt coated in oil. We were charged for tea when we only had water. Salt shaker was completely empty as was the ketchup bottle. The table behind us had no mustard. The salt shaker we borrowed from an empty table was sticky and nasty dirty and the ketchup bottle lids from that table and ours were filthy. Gross. They seem to do a booming business, but I can't see why. This is the first review I have ever written that was not favorable, and there's a really good reason for it. And not their fault, but the man behind my husband talked, fairly loudly through most of our dinner, about the ambulance runs he had been on that were not the kind of dinner conversation most folks want to hear while trying to eat. I stopped by around 11:50 AM on a Tuesday, figuring I had plenty of time since their hours say they're open until 9 PM. Imagine my surprise when I found the doors locked up tight! My husband and I were really looking to try this place out especially after seeing the sign that said Lunch Buffet 11-2pm. I tried calling them twice, hoping to get someone on the phone, but both times it just rang and rang with no answer. It's pretty frustrating when you can't even get through to a place. And then, as I was sitting in my car, pretty annoyed and starting to write this review, a person I'm guessing was the cook pulled up and just unlocked the door.
