Gary's Bakery — Restaurant in Lakeview Township

Gary’s donuts are delicious, made from scratch and are quite the delight. Current price is $2.36/donut regardless of type. The reason for less than 5 stars is we were grossly overcharged for our purchase. Not sure if it was because we were unfamiliar faces or purely an accidental. We purchased 6 donuts and were charged $27.40. The woman who rang us up was the same who grabbed the donuts and had clearly been working there a while as when a new customer came in she knew their order by face so can only conjecture it was an intentional overcharge charge. We unfortunately declined a receipt but the more I thought about it the more $4+ per donut just felt way too expensive for a small donut shop. The reason for 4 stars instead of less for the gross over charge is we returned to the shop and were refunded the overcharge without issue but it should not have happened. Gary's bakery is definitely the BEST place for doughnuts in town. Their hours are a little inconvenient, but going a little out of your way to get a doughnut is a great choice.
