Ordered take out on 12/13/2020 , after hearing good reviews . I was very disappointed . We called ahead and they informed us it would be around 40 minutes , we got there within 40 minutes and they told us they were just waiting on the pizza. We ordered at the same time and paid separately. All while maybe 7 different customers picked up their orders . Im thinking this is taking too long, well at least our pizza will be fresh .15 minutes after waiting and we finally got one order about 5 minutes after the whole order was handed to us. The pizza seemed dry as if it were just sitting in a warmer. What a huge disappointment! I understand they were busy But sacrificing quality of quantity is never a good thing. I LOVE pizza and like trying out new spots and this place got it all wrong! I ordered a large Chicken and bacon pizza and a small margarita pizza which was worst pizza I've had EVER! I think they had a shortage on basil because there were little shredded pieces toward the middle and the pizza itself had so many bubbles not enough mozzarella and sauce was sour . Also the fries and chicken wings were not fresh.. the chicken wings were refried and super salty , fries were soggy but tasty. Chicken bacon had a good amount of toppings especially the bacon (one reason they received another star otherwise it would be one star ) but again chicken was dry and sauce had already seemed to settle so it was thicker and the taste was very bland(chicken had no flavor and pizza sauce was overly sour) , also its was tough to separate the pizza slices , again old pizza crust. Im 99.9% sure our Chicken bacon and possibly margaritas pizza were sitting around for for a while . This pandemic has made me support small local business even more so its never a loss however, this place needs better management and better quality of food especially for the take out customers. The two young female cashiers (where handling money, their cellphones , pens and work phones all without sanitizing once ) where opening pizza boxes to make sure of I really dont know what WITHOUT any gloves. Were they making sure the pizza wasn't too dry? Just curious why they kept opening every SINGLE box , I guess they were making mistakes because a young man who was sitting waiting for a pizza to be remade was waiting for about 10minues before he stormed off once he received his small pizza, id rather not write what he said but he wasnt a happy customer. The real question is what is going on back in the kitchen and where was management on this lovely Sunday evening ? Social distancing was not being followed at one point there were 7 people waiting on their orders in the small take out spot. Masks were worn but still felt a little uncomfortable for me . I am willing to give dine in a try but im hoping they do better next time because $30.00 for mediocre re-warmed pizza should be a crime to all the pizza lovers...
Read moreWe are new to lakeville, Baldies has become a weekly staple for us! We work a lot of long hours and this place is a local treat! Food is always on point. It is definitely a “foodie” place. Menu is diverse with great specials always coming out. (Should follow on Facebook to stay updated). Portions are just fine. The wait staff is always friendly and welcoming. Noted to have many regulars with wait staff making connections and conversational with each table making you want to come back and see a familiar face. They work hard on the busy days. Noted to speak kindly to each other when away from tables. We love coming back week after week. This is a wonderful family run business in the area. Of special mention: their confit wings, mushroom salad, sweet potato gnocchi, pizzas. Menu is different from take out or dine in. Pizza is really all we’ve gotten from the take out. The dine in is more expansive. My husband loves the beer list. Menu seems to be seasonal. Can be vegetarian friendly. Not a vegan friendly restaurant. This restaurant utilizes glass cups and regular silverware. Does utilize cloth napkins. Does not utilize compostable take out containers so better to bring your own glass container for left overs (if there are any! 😋) I’m not sure about bamboo sticks for drink garnish. Recently switched to bamboo straws if you must have one. However, though upscale for the areas be aware this a family friendly restaurant. Many people bring young children. I’ve asked to be sat away from children and will still be sat within a couple tables. If you’re someone that avoids children in restaurants (1) plan your time of visit accordingly (2) asked to be sat in bar area or sit at bar itself.
I truely wish the owners and staff all good vibes and success. A diamond in the woods. Thank you for good food and company after a long and...
Read moreAn honest review of someone who’s been coming here for a while….. when this place first opened it was amazing. I had been getting baldies when they were at Star market.
From when I used to come here once or twice a week when they opened the restaurant the food was always great and satisfying. I had tried everything on the menu. Great food. Steak tips were the best. Sandwiches were great. And as always. Pizza especially the new brick oven pizza was amazing.
Over a period of time it started going down hill, as did my visits to the restaurant. Quality control started to downward spiral.
Holding out hope for a resurgence because I love local spots I continued to come back periodically.
Well after an extended hiatus I’ve returned and it is just lack luster. The chicken sandwich might as well been from my elementary school cafeteria. There was literally 10% meat the rest of the 90% was breading. It’s insanity to think they thought it was acceptable. But here’s the kicker. That’s the exact reason the initial hiatus happened.
As always the pizza has stayed the same. Our waitress was real nice and friendly. I really hope this place figures it out because there’s so much potential for it. Even the beer selection has gone way down.
Also. Please fix the lighting. The color temperature of the lights could make it a much more comfortable and appeasing setting.
Get back to the old ways because this was...
