Imagine my surprise when I saw Mizumi’s Asian Bistro close down a few months ago. It was quite the little gem—I was sad to see it go. So you can imagine my even bigger surprise when I had saw another bistro open in its stead—Sakura’s Sushi & Hibachi. Needless to say, I had to try it out. Also they have a -15% off all menu items promo going on right now—figured I should mention that first before anything else.

Upon walking in, I can say the atmosphere hasn’t changed much from Mizumi. They kept most of the same seating and everything. Makes sense as it’s simply another bistro so everything can be used. It’s a nice little quaint atmosphere that I quite enjoy. I was greeted instantly by a very pleasant lady who then helped me figure out the situation. It would seem that at the moment they’re more geared towards takeout rather than dine-in for they don’t have any actual plates or cutteries for dining in. Honestly the smart choice to go with for it’s location in town, being hidden away and takeout most likely being it’s primary business. The biggest distinction right off the bat is that Sakura serves bubble tea whereas Mizumi had served liquor. Where some may prefer liquor, I am personally in the group of bubble tea for life. It was a pleasant thing to see. I ended up ordering the classic milk tea and a serving of fried rice—out of respect to the late Mizumi but as well as to see if Sakura can live up to my high praises for Mizumi’s fried rice that had blown me away for its rich taste in such a simplistic dish.

My wait time was quite short, having my food brought to me within 5 minutes. Granted I was the only customer in at the time, but hey that’s pretty good. Now to the food itself. It was wonderful! The bubble tea was lovely. It’s always great to see more bubble tea areas in the southern metro area, if you can even call Lakeville and Apple Valley that. It’s been so lacking and now seeing all these places rise up like Nihao Tea and Fuchi Poke is such a treat. My taste buds for bubble tea is not good enough to distinguish whether it was better than the other places or not, but I will say that it was definitely good tea. No complaints. As for the rice, it was pleasant. It wasn’t quite the same level of balance that Mizumi had commanded, but I was more than satisfied. Hibachi rice really hits different. Each grain is beautifully textured and you can feel it. If you wish for more flavor, they have yum yum sauce as well as basic soy sauce which is more than enough. The steak was perfectly cooked a wonderful medium, not too chewy or raw—pleasant for all.

Overrall I would definitely come back—especially with the promo they got going on right now. But even without it, I would. It’s a nice little gem to replace Mizumi, and frankly I’d say they 1-upped Mizumi with their bubble tea. Next time I’ll try out some sushi and see how that goes. Wonderful to see an Asian bistro return to Lakeville and I wish the best to the place. They have my...

I have fallen in love with this place! Mostly the bubble teas! There are plenty of flavors to chose from and they don’t have just boba pearls, they have the popping ones as well!

I have been coming here ever since my friend first introduced it to me, enough to fill up one of their tea ā€œpunch cardsā€ which I highly recommend asking for and working your way to complete it! I already got my free drink and want to start a new punch card!

The service here is always super friendly and helpful and I love how they are always checking up on you when you dine in and eat! A lot of people order take out, but I never have, so I can’t help out with reviews for that! I definitely recommend the bubble teas though, and the sushi, they are super good! My favorite is definitely the brown sugar milk tea. I also don’t enjoy the boba pearls in my drinks, and they are super good at making sure my...

My husband and I went to this place because we wanted to try it out. When we got there it was pretty empty. We thought we just came at the right time where no one was coming. The hostess was very nice and welcoming. When we got seated, we were brought the menu as well. There were many varieties in the menu to choose from.

We finish ordering our food and to our surprise, we were served with paper plates and plastic utensils. All of the food that came out, was all in to go boxes. I was a bit confuse because we didn’t order anything to go.

My husband ordered a steak and lobster hibachi… well.. our lobster was probably the size of his thumb. We were kind of shock because that menu item was pretty pricey, $32. We expected more of the lobster tail and the steak for that kind of price. It was very disappointing.

The food overall was good but I do think that their...

I cannot speak highly enough of Sakura Sushi and Hibachi Grill! The service is truly exceptional, and the owners' warmth adds an extra special touch to the dining experience. I find myself returning frequently - it's almost addictive! šŸ˜‚ In my opinion, they offer the finest sushi in Lakeville. I especially recommend trying the super star roll, and their buy one, get the second one at 30% off deal on the speciality sushi rolls is fantastic. Highly recommended for sushi enthusiasts!
