Absolutely my worst experience ever at a DQ! My best friend and I went to visit Prairie State Park for the day and while there found a little puppy that someone had dumped so we picked him up. We decided to stop at get us something to eat and get him a hamburger patty too! We went through the drive through since we had the puppy and didn't want to leave him in the car alone. Our order was simple....a chicken finger basket with fries, a plain hamburger patty, a double cheeseburger with no bun, a side salad with ranch, a blizzard and 2 waters. Pretty simple to me! When getting our order they had given me 2 hamburger patties with no cheese and the patties were so dry and charcoaled that it looked awful. I went in and nicely asked if they could please make me a fresh double cheeseburger since they forgot the cheese and I even showed them how dry the patties were and the boy at the counter agreed and asked them to make mine fresh. I went to use the bathroom and came back and the boy handed me a bag and said here ya go. I thanked him and left. I got in the car and we pulled out. When opening my wrapper guess what??? It was the 2 same patties with a piece of cheese that had been microwaved on it! I was so disappointed and should have known better and looked before...
Read moreWe've been going to this DQ for several years, and one thing has been consistent 99% of the time - lack of service. The children running this store, with a handful of exceptions, act like they're being tortured to be at work, and that the customers are nothing more than an inconvenience. Yesterday's experience was another banner disappointment - blank stare from the boy taking orders, no greeting and no words at all after taking our money. We all see the self-serve kiosks showing up, and we try to avoid them since we prefer human contact, but the way folks are treated at this DQ makes us wish there was a kiosk here. We tried the chicken strips this time, and will not have them again since they were barely bigger than nuggets served at the store with the arches. Sadly, with a small population, there aren't multiple applicants to choose from for hiring employees, but from a customer service perspective, most of the children are pulling the owner's leg if they say they like people or are good at customer service. Bottom line--we keep going to this DQ because the food is good most of the time. We just need to lower our expectations for decent service. That's sad, since good service...
Read moreI just went to Dairy Queen for a To-Go order, and I can’t think of anything they really did right. The staff that was there when I went were a whole group of teenagers, sitting around, laughing. There was a woman who ordered a small ice cream and they messed up the order three times in a row!! And they took ten minutes to make her another one each time. Two of the girls working at the front counter were paid a visit by their friend ( who came in like 10 minutes after us ), barely paid and was talking to them the entire time he was there, and he got his food in less than five minutes. AND! We even saw our order sitting there for almost the entirety of the time we were there, on a tray I might add. Also, keep in mind it was TO GO, but they obviously didn’t because they didn’t even know whether to put it in a bag or give us the tray and make us put it in a bag. And the cherry on top, once we FINALLY received our food, we asked one of the workers why our food was sitting there forever, she lied and said she was working in the kitchen but we literally saw her talking to her friends the entire time. Do not recommend. If I could give 0...
