Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Lamar Heights

I've been coming to this place for as long as it's been open, and they've had their ups and downs, just like any place. But lately I'm not sure what's going on with the wait times. I don't want to seem petty, but we've been using the app to order and it takes forever to get out drinks. We rarely order food, usually drinks or desserts. This time I decided to were a review about it. We waited for about 20 minutes for a small order of mozzarella sticks, an ice water and three sundaes. This isn't the first time this had happened, and also not the longest we've waited. But from now on if it continues to happen I'll be reviewing our contacting management. We stopped here on the way through Lamar to grab some dinner. The only thing that was hot and fresh tasting was my son's chicken sandwich. My fries were redipped, brown and nasty, both mine and my husband's burgers were barely warm. On our way back through Lamar, 4 hours later, we stopped for broccoli tots and ice cream to keep us awake for the long ride home. The tots were not even warm. It was like they had been sitting on the counter, sad and forgotten all evening. They have one up on the rest of the fast food game. They have more options for sides and drinks. A personal favorite discovered by accident is "strawberry Dr Pepper" another plus that you may not know is you can have your burger put on texas toast at no extra charge. Fyi they melt the cheese for their grilled cheese directly on the grill before putting it on the sandwich. The last few times I have had their chicken strips I was very dissapionted.
