What an awesome find! I cannot believe I did not know this place existed until I stumbled upon while visiting another establishment in this center about a week ago. I understand now that there is a sign waver on 54, but I do not believe I noticed this person.
I am no expert, but have had the privilege of enjoying Indian cuisine from many different locations, including in India. This food ranks high on my list and I recommend to anyone who is curious or familiar.
They offer Mild, Medium, Hot and Indian Hot, so I think everyone should be covered.
We ordered online and picked up. The order was ready on time, packed nicely and still hot when we got it home (just a few minutes away).
We had 3 orders that were delicious. I had the Butter Chicken (Hot) and the others had the Chicken Biryani (Mild). I very much enjoyed my Butter Chicken, which had just the right amount of chicken to fill me up for dinner with lots of the saucy goodness for additional naan dipping. The heat is more flavor than burn your face, which is I believe how Indian food should be. Next time, I will try the Indian hot.
The others enjoyed their Biryani with its tender chicken and firm rice. It is nice to have those heat options from one side of the scale to the other so everyone can enjoy and order depending on their taste.
The naan seemed more traditional that what I have gotten in other places relatively close to here. We got the Basket and enjoyed it all.
I hope they get more foot traffic with the new grocery store ("farmers market") opened now, and good word of mouth advertising, and can stay around for a long time. I highly recommend and plan to go back again...
Read moreI am always skeptical of restaurants in small strip malls, but I thought we would still give this place a try! The food wasn’t bad, I was glad to see that they do not use food coloring in their chicken tikka appetizers! As for the entrees, the chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and chicken biriyani had good flavor, but they lacked spice. We had asked them to make all our dishes “Indian hot” but that never happened - the waitress most likely forgot to write that down whilst we were placing our order. We also asked the lady to bring out the chicken biryani first because we ordered that for a toddler - this item arrived after all entrees had been handed out (we ordered this with our appetizers and ordered our entrees a while later).
Our biggest pet peeve with this restaurant is that the service was so so slow! There was only one lady tending to all tables whilst a man just stood behind the cashier desk doing nothing! We actually felt bad for her. They are massively understaffed and cannot keep up with incoming tickets in the lead up to and during the dinner rush.
The dishes are definitely overpriced, they charge more than Indian restaurants in New York and that’s not even an exaggeration. The decor is all over the place and somewhat bleak, be proud of your heritage and showcase the colorful culture! Consider adding where in India this food hails from on your website, if it’s Punjab, say it loud and proud!
We wish this restaurant the best of luck, and hope that they consider this review as constructive feedback as we wish them nothing...
Read moreUPDATE: Today 09-20-24 was our 3rd visit. We try something different for a full experience in Indian food. We had the Vegetable Samosa, Garlic Naan and Chicken Tikka and Tandoori chicken, suggested by the owner as I could not make up my mind. Spot on!!! It was delicious but with no surprise. The chicken was tender as ever and you can not beat the flavor that is incorporated, no matter which dish you chose. We love this place. It means a lot when the staff/owner can make you feel so welcomed and so appreciated for dining at their proud establishment. This place is the Art of Indian Cuisine.
We had dinner here Saturday, February 24th, and it was just delicious. The wait time was well worth it as everything is made to order. You can taste the pride they put forth. Very clean dining area. I even noticed the one gal shining the silverware. The entire staff was very friendly and smiled all the time. The owner/manager came over and visited us with conversation. Longer than just asking if everything was alright. 5 star service to everyone. It's a great location, plenty of parking. This is one restaurant I do hope stays for a long time and look forward to returning for another fantastic meal. Discovery Indian Cuisine 2.0, welcome to the...
