China Moon — Restaurant in Lanett

We had a party of five and granted it’s New Year’s Eve so mom wanted Chinese. She had seen this little out of the way place while at the flea market and decided to come swoop us up and we could all go eat before we had to settle in for the evening driving is a bad plan on NYE. Anyway we walked in got seated and this this little woman with a big attitude came bursting around the corner with an extremely larger voice than anticipated which honestly felt like we were being yelled at and grilled. Seafood buffet consisted of an extra 6 items on the buffet which was not t all impressive in the first place. It smelled amazing but when they told us it was going to be $30.00 a head due to the extra 6 buffet items plus drinks we quickly decided that there wasn’t a buffet in Alabama nowhere near the beach with crab legs or otherwise worth 175$ for all of us to eat. When we said we weren’t eating and it was highly overpriced the same abrasive lady from before very snidely said well then you won’t be getting your drink either then. Lol wow what a terribly priced place lacking customer appeal in every way I won’t be back nor would I ever suggest it to anyone else. They need to replace their wait staff, and probably look into what prices adequately fair in such a small place. It didn’t surprise me there weren’t...

Positive part of review: Staff were friendly -atmosphere was good

Negative part - 12 of us ordered the buffet. 11 of us are sick. After eating from the buffet I was the first before we even left that started having symptoms. An hour after others that ate started having symptoms . I’m missing work today due to still being sick and others are still feeling it today as well. We definitely got ahold to some bad food on the buffet for sure.

Maybe something sat on the buffet too long or something I’m not sure. However I do know we’re all still sickly today and feel quite awful.

Very disappointed, Maybe it was an off day even though this place was highly recommended it was a below average chinese buffet especially for a Saturday at lunch. There only a few items that stood out such as the crab rangoons and the stir fried shrimp,there was no sushi and the fried fish looked and tasted like it was at least 2 days old because even when they brought out some so-called fresh to the bar it looked worse than the couple of leftover pieces that were there when we arrived shortly after they opened at 11am. The sad part is we went out of our way to go to this restaurant because I heard it was so good, Oh well.
