Brewitt Cafe & Bakery — Restaurant in Lansing

After reading an article in the City Pulse about Brewitt Cafe & Bakery, we decided to stop by. We were welcomed in by an amazing host/cashier. She explained the menu so we could make an excellent choice. We picked the bananas foster waffle and the hangover sandwich with bacon. Both arrived quickly and looked picture-perfect. Everything was prepared wonderfully and tasted delicious. We enjoyed our meal with a drip over hot coffee and the smoothest cold brew coffee. Brewitt is AMAZING! I recently stopped in for a cold brew and breakfast and haven't stopped thinking about it since. I am a vegetarian and they were able to make their waffle breakfast sandwich without meat and OMG, it's incredible. They serve the sandwich on the hotel style waffles and it's a perfect mix of savory and sweet. I had a cold brew with house-made syrup and it was such a great pairing. The owner is so FUN too. A welcome addition to the Allen St. Marketplace! Had the Caprese waffle sandwich. The waffles were light and crispy with a touch of sweetness. The feta added creamyness, the balsamic glaze a bit of welcome acidity, and the tomato, spinich, and crispy onions were a nice accent. Very flavorful! The hot cocoa was piping hot, not cloyingly sweet with just a hint of bitterness. Definitely will return to sample other menu items....sorry I missed out on the toasted peanut chocolate...
