I was told by the staff to give my honest review after letting them know that I was a google reviewer...... so here it is!!
I walked in to Hanks today with high expectations after hearing my friends give it rave reviews. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly by Peaches! After a few moments of looking at the menu, I decided to go with the fish (whiting) sandwich with fries. Hanks fries are seasoned and taste really good. I wish I could say the same for my fish sandwich. Unfortunately, the sandwich wasn't good. The bun was soft, lightly toasted, buttery, but the fish just had zero taste. The fish wasn't meaty and what I could taste tasted watered down. Although the outside was fried too perfection it lacked seasoning. The saving grace for the sandwich was the tartar sauce.... good thing I asked for extra. Malt vinegar would have also helped but they didn't have any.
Overall, there are things on the menu at Hank's Cuisines that I would still like to try, like the smash burger and shrimp and grits. If I'm over in the area, I'll stop... but not sure I would make a special trip.

Read moreNestled in a revitalizing area of Lansing, Hanks Cuisines stands out as a gem. During my recent visit, I was particularly impressed by their Spicy Chicken Sandwich amd fries. The heat was perfectly balanced, delivering a flavorful punch that left me wanting more. The sandwich's popularity is evident, as I've read a few 5 star reviews about it. The fries had a seasoning that perfectly complimented the sandwich.
The restaurant's ambiance is inviting with a mysterious skyline, providing a comfortable setting. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness further enhance the dining experience. It's clear that Hanks Cuisines has quickly become a favorite among locals, thanks to its delicious offerings and warm atmosphere.

The smash burger and chicken sandwich were cooked to order and tasted good.
*The shoestring fries were cooked well and were dashed with white cheddar seasoning that added a good unique flavor.
When ordering, the clerk was on the phone (personal call) and had to tell the person multiple times she was taking an order. The clerk was very friendly though!
Ice machine was out of order.
A bit pricey, but everything is these days. Two people (fries/sandwiches/one drink $33).
I would come back if I’m in the area and looking for...
