I am a military member who moved to West Palm Beach in August of 2022. Where I started to frequent the HIV Waterfront Restaurant & Tiki Bar at 2412 Floral Road Lantana FL 33462. I have been going to the establish for almost a year know. On October 23, 2023, I went to the restaurant to have dinner and a few drinks where I sat at the outside bar. I was waited on by Danette and Casey. After about an hour being there a fellow employee named Amanda approached me at the bar and stated she had worked Monday day and she must of stayed at the establish because she was highly intoxicated. She began to question me about being an undercover police officer investigating the HIV. She also stated I had a fake country accent and that my marriage to my wife was fake. She stated she had served my wife years ago in a different establishment and that I was undercover. At that time a police officer rode thru the parking lot which she stated there is my friend. After I told her I was in the military which I am serving and have been serving for 20yrs. She stated I was lying even though I showed her my military ID. I also told her about my service in IRAQ. She also said I was lying about that, and I was there to bring the HIV down. After I told her I had no clue what she was talking about she then switched her story that I was a private investigator there spying on her about her husband’s security business. I keep trying to explain I did not know what she was talking about. She insisted I was lying, and I was either a cop or a private investigator. The establishment was starting to close so I excused myself from the interrogation. While I was leaving the establishment Amanda yelled out real loud that she told me to quit hitting on her five times. I think she was trying to embarrass me in front of the other patrons in the establishment. On 10-24-2023 I returned to the HIV to have dinner and to speak to the owner Vennie. As I was sitting at the establish, I noticed that Amanda had whispered something in Vennie ear. When I tried to speak to him about the encounter with her the night before he requested that I leave the establishment. I do not understand Venny customer service but I have never done anything wrong in the establishment for almost a year and for him to just make me leave instead of talking to me about his employee was very...
Read moreAnother super family favorite!! I drove by this spot, located close to 95 off of Hypoluxo Rd. for a long time. It didn't seem appealing from the road.....I thought it was only a bar. Boy, was I wrong! We gave it a try, out of pure curiosity. Thank goodness we did, and we haven't looked back. We try to visit every week, if not every other week. It's that good. They have daily specials Monday thru Sunday, yes, you read that right...specials all week and every day brings really good food. The menu is extensive. They have some unique menu items that deviate from the "norm." Some items we order on the regular are the mac and cheese with fried chicken pieces rolled in Buffalo sauce. Tortellini in Alfredo sauce that comes with a HUGE piece of sausage and a side salad. Bacon Burgers on Wednesdays (this Wed special is $8). Taco Tuesdays ($3 ea. beef or chicken). These are soft tacos with a pile of meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. I can't forget to mention their new england clam chowder.....it's the best I've ever had, and if you get the bowl, it's HUGE and can be a meal in itself (Friday and Saurday only). A side salad is also a nice addition. They make their own salad dressing, and all of them are amazing, I'm partial to the bleu cheese. I can keep going, but you really need to try this place. The atmosphere is cool, too. You can eat inside in the A/C, or outside in the massive covered Tiki bar (even in the pouring rain), and listen to live music and "get your drink on." There is also a large covered outside dining area connected to the regular dining room and picnic tables scattered around the perimeter of the water so you can enjoy lake views. You can also enjoy lake views from just about any place you choose to sit whether you are inside or outside. Don't judge this one by the cover like I did. You will certainly miss a gem of a restaurant. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating, and the food always exceeds our expectations. You can park off of Hypoluxo Rd., but it's best if you take the small side road to the right (I can't remember the name of the street) located just west of the restaurant. Then take the very next right, and the road will lead you back to the large back parking area located...
Read moreGreat place on Lake Osborne!! Huge restaurant with something for everyone! Whether you want to be a "bar fly," dine outside under the Tiki Hut or dine inside it is there for you! Great prices and large, comprehensive menu, nice appetizers if you choose! There are options as to having items cooked, such as broiled, baked or seared rather than fried. Not many vegetarian selections but I made out ok ordering the escargot and soup. There are good seafood and fish selections! The soups are delish, my husband got a bowl of the clam chowder (yummy) which was "huge" like enough for a week so you might want to consider the cup which is also big. Large portions for hungry folks, I prefer small portions that is why I only get an appetizer as my entree. Large portions = Large people, remember that and order wisely!! Happy Hour is daily, my high ball was only $3.50, that is dirt cheap like back in the late 70's and 80's!! If I owned the restaurant I would put large ceiling fans on the open Tiki Hut areas, especially for the summer months to help move the air, gets warm out there. Overall, a great place and only 10 minutes away from east Boynton Beach area!! *Additional review from last night 5/25/24…We went back just for grins, prices have increased considerably and I ordered the early bird special at 7:00 pm because it is inclusive of everything for $18… I asked what the stuffed fish was and the waiter told me Basa fish, a white, flaky fish stuffed with crabmeat but she was rather vague in her description. Ends up when I got home and researched Basa fish I learned that it is CATFISH with a fancy name, apparently comes from Vietnam!!!! When I read that I almost threw up!! I have never eaten catfish and never plan to eat it again. YES, I should have inquired more deeply into it while sitting in the restaurant! If they are serving NASTY catfish they need to tell you it is catfish!!!!!! My husband believes his seafood chowder had big chunks of catfish in it as well!! Disgusting!! We will never return because of the lack of transparency on the...
