Danny's Restaurant — Restaurant in Laredo

DO NOT GO TO DANNY'S MEXICAN RESTURANT ON MINES ROAD. 11096 MINES RD. THEY STEAL MONEY FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS! And when I called their corporate office they said they would NOT do an investigation into the store even though they said they have gotten MULTIPLE accusations of this!

I was sick and did not feel good so I sent my boyfriend to go and pick up my to go order of soup on March 24th, 2017 at 5pm. Little did we know that this male manager charging me would ADD HIS OWN TIP and charge it to my card. In addition to the charge of my meal which was just being picked up he stole money for himself from me. It wasn't until the charge went through my card two days later that I noticed the charge was different from my reciet. I immediately called Bank of America to dispute the charged tip. They were so nice and understanding and without hesitation refunded me the money. But that is beyond the point. The money is not the issue here. The issue is that this manager decided that he wanted money for himself and disregarded his responsibilities and stole it from a customer. The corporate office says they have gotten multiple accusations of this so why has nothing been done. Why is this still happening? What if I was a person who has kids and who has very little money to buy food. What if my bank wasn't nice and understanding. How is it okay for this manager to be stealing from Dannys restaurant customers? Money that these customers, including myself, have worked long and hard for. How is it that neither the police, the store, and the corporate office, can do anything about this? It isn't the first or the last time it will happen. A friend of mine and I came to eat lunch. We were told to have a seat anywhere we liked, though the signs clearly state "Wait to be seated" not an issue, just confusing for first timers. Menu prices online, on Google, are NOT what they are in the restaurant. Our waitress was less than friendly, seemed to be bored with having to take our table. We ordered our drinks and looked through the menu, all the prices are much higher than they show to be online. Cheese enchiladas with rice and beans should not be over $13. My friend was confused about what came on these enchiladas, attempted to explain this to the waitress, but she didn't seem too interested in correcting the misunderstanding. He thought there was extra things in the sauce, as the picture portrayed, she did not let him know otherwise, so he ordered without the sauce. His enchiladas came out looking a bit burnt, and couldn't be cut into. He requested to speak to the manager, another waitress told us he was busy. When a patron asks to speak to the manager, they should be more than happy to come and see if there is an issue that need stop be addressed, not a sign of good management. However, the manager did end up coming over to speak with us. He was kind, considerate, and made sure he understood the situation, before he took action and remedied the issue. My friends food came back out, and was perfect, exactly what he expected. Downfall was that the server who initially took our table never apologized for the misunderstanding, nor did she ever come back to our table. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. We came here because we are truck drivers, and sometimes it's nice to get something a bit different than what we can get on the road. This experience was not something we'd want to come...

I tend to rate places in relation of price to quality. The higher the price, the higher the quality. I think that's fair. Having said that, I usually go to Danny's for lunch or dinner. It's really good. Nothing extraordinary, but always good. Today I decided to go for breakfast and what a big disappointment!!!!. I ordered the "barbacoa" plate so I expected to get mostly barbacoa if that's what it's called right? Nope, it was a refried bean plate with a very small size serving of barbacoa. That's very disingenuous of them, naming and pricing the plate that high for less than half of a taco of barbacoa. The beans were meh and the 2 bites of barbacoa was good but the eggs OMG it was horrible!!! It was drenched in what I think was fake butter or canola oil which was DISGUSTING!!!! I couldn't eat them or the potatoes!!!! My girlfriend ordered the "french toast" and I know they don't know what french toast is!!! What she got was bread with pancake batter!!!! What the hell is that!!!!! Packed with fake butter!!!! It was horrible as well!!!! I thought Danny's had good breakfast not way below average breakfast. I'm very disappointed having paid $40 for that disappointment. With half of what I paid, I could have gotten better food at any fast food restaurant. Think about that for a second.
