El Puesto — Restaurant in Laredo

Pros- The tacos were all amazing, and for the most part , the shrimp burrito was mediocre. The quality of meat seems really good. And the sauces are fantastic. I really enjoyed the frijoles charros. The atmosphere here is great and i love that it is open seating. They also have a great selection of liquor at their bar.

Cons- For the cost, the service was a bit lack luster. They forgot a couple items with our meal (the beans) and brought the sauces out after we had finished our meals already. The burrito was the downfall for me. I asked what was recommended, and the waiter recommended the shrimp burrito to me. Having seen pictures of them online, they appear to be covered in a crispy cheese crust. What I received was not that. It was very bland and the only flavor in the burrito was from the lime and the sauces.

Overall, this is a nice little spot. The food is good and the portions are fair. I would recommend checking it out. Get the tacos, specifically the gringas, and the brisket. Those were fantastic, avoid the burritos and don't be afraid to say something if...

8/28/21, came for lunch after several times of passing by and being curious. Looked delicious on Facebook. Ordered 4 tacos for myself to try out different menu items. Barbacoa de Brisket was the one with the least flavor. Looked delicious but was lacking in flavor and needed salt. Ribeye y Longaniza was was ok. Was expecting ribeye and sausage taco but instead came with a piece of pork that tasted like pastor, no sausage in this taco. Cilantro Lime Chicken taco was a pleasant surprise. Juicy, flavorful, tender chicken. Nicely seasoned, and would recommend a squeeze of lime for extra flavor. The skirt taco was the best of the 4. Perfectly seasoned, tender and moist. Again, with a squeeze of lime and salsa the taco was even better. The corn tortillas were awesome and the black charro beans were delicious. The quality of the food is obvious and ingredients are fresh. Dissapointed when I ordered a diet coke from the fountain and charged $2.50 for each refill! Will visit again in the future to try something else...

First visit here after wanting to come for a while now and it was a very bad experience.... as you enter the place it smells like drainage and it's mixed with deodorizer trying to cover the smell... the chips were rancid and the limes were old the salsas in my opinion are not good/tasty their beans are BAD nooo flavor so I asked to substitute with their rice which was BAD aswell nooo flavor either and to top it off when they bring my tacos they had a hair... gotta say the tacos were good they did replace the tacos but not worth going back. It's a pricy place so the least I expect is for it to be good. They really have to get a new recipe for their rice...
