Montecarlo & La Roca Reataurant — Restaurant in Laredo

If you speak English, GOOD LUCK!! English please? We understand this is close to the border, however we are in the USA.. could never tell by this restaurant. We are in town for business and decided to give this restaurant a try we were looking forward to some good Italian food… well we were approached by a young girl who asked us something in Spanish, we do not speak Spanish . We told her we didn’t speak Spanish and wasn’t sure what she was asking. We figured out she was asking what we wanted to drink. She asked us something else and again told her we don’t speak Spanish. We literally had about 4 or 5 people come to our table still speaking Spanish but muttering out a little English so we were about to order our food. This is insane. We understand if you speak Spanish but English should be required being it is in the United States. The food was ok. My chicken was very dry. My husband said he loved his trio, however not worth to the 81 for the two of us. Not to mention the aggregation of trying to understand the servers. We will definitely remember for next year and...

Hadn't been here in over a year and everything was still delicious! Shrimp cocktail was nice and COLD and came along w/ all the fixings: cilantro, onion, limes - ask for it on the side if you're a traditionalist or just sharing w your kids. The seafood soup was delicious, nice and hot and had a good mix of seafood. My wife's Laredo Plate (grilled chicken, shrimp,veggies, baked potato) was really tasty and the kids fish plate was a great deal! My daughter didn't care too much for the kids spaghetti, but overall it was a great meal. Great service from our waiter and just a nice quiet atmosphere to have a family dinner during the week. My family and I have been going to this restaurant for many, many years. Mom and I took a friend there last Saturday. Food was excellent, but service was really bad! I asked the waiter for extra napkins. I had to get up and get them myself. He was too enthralled with the college football game. He never came to check on us to see if we needed more drinks. I tried flagging him down several times and he never looked our way. I was very dissappointed. I am an excellent tipper. When I got up to pay our bill, I did tell the cashier about the bad service.
