We just bought a house through your Laredo agent, Tiffany Amber Garza. I feel I would be remiss if I didn't share our experience.
We closed on a house that the realtor actually said should not have been closed on (this was through Rebecca via text message, who I understand to be Tiffany Amber's boss). The seller did not complete the home repairs that the inspector identified.
Tiffany Amber did replace our downstairs toilet. We appreciate the effort on her part because she said that this was coming out of her personal money she earned on the sale of the house. However, she did replace the toilet with a rather small toilet (I'm 5'2 and it's tiny for me).
In addition, the seller took the stove with her when she moved. The realtor was not aware of this to our knowledge. I pointed this out to her when we received the keys. The house was supposed to come with the stove, we were only originally going to buy a refrigerator.
Tiffany Amber did get a stove and to her credit, she did ask us if white would be ok. We just wanted any stove but in all fairness I think we should have received appliances that were of equal value to what was in the house when we did the inspection. The stove had a price tag of $190 on it.
We are still waiting to hear from the realtor in regards to the other repairs on the inspection. There was something about an outside electrical outlet but what we are mostly concerned about is the lack of a carbon monoxide detector. Tiffany Amber said she thinks it was replaced but we never received a confirmation on that or the outside outlet. She also told us she thinks the upstairs toilet was new but again, no confirmation that it was replaced after the inspection was conducted.
Also, the house was disgusting upon us receiving the keys. The seller was still in the house when we closed on January 7, 2021. We received the keys on January 11, 2021. Tiffany Amber took pictures of some of the damages the seller did to the house (on the stairs in particular) upon moving out but that never went anywhere. We paid a professional cleaning service to come and clean before we could officially move in. When we notified Tiffany Amber of this she mentioned that the realtor has a cleaning service but we received no explanation as to why the house was not professionally cleaned before we moved in.
One last thing, we made an offer of 196,000 on the house. Asking price was 197,000. Tiffany Amber said the seller said she would leave the palapa outside if we came in at asking. Imagine our surprise when we walked outside to see the palapa was taken by the seller as well. Tiffany Amber's boss said since this was not in writing there was nothing that could be done about it. They asked the seller and she said the palapa broke.
The overall attitude was that it was just too bad. Tiffany Amber emailed she'd bring a carbon monoxide monitor and never contacted us again. Buy your house from someone who wasn't named after saved...
