Sal's Pizza — Restaurant in Laredo

This is a tough review because I've been going to this place since I was a little kid when they first opened in the mall. Normally they are very consistent on the pizza. This time around was a little bit different. A week before the owner was not well due to some medical condition and had to close the restaurant until he recovered. The last several times I've been there, I was the only customer at the moment. I'm sure they get more customers but I happen to be there when it was slow.

The pizza looks good but it also looked a little undercooked. The taste of the dough was a little different than normal. I believe it is because of the turnaround rotation of their stock due to the business being slow.

I won't let this experience keep me from going there again. Everyone has their days and that day wasn't theirs. I try to support small local businesses over big corporate Giants. Let's all start going to Sal's and revive the business as...

This is the best pizza on planet Earth! I recently came back to try the pizza I had as a teenager when I used to go to the one at Mall del Norte! Omg! This pizza is amazing! There’s no one that can replicate this, only one stop in CA, one spot in TX, and I’m sure a couple more in New York! This is real authentic New Work style pizza and the cheese with the sauce is so amazing! The full size pizza I’m pretty sure is all they’re doing right now. Picture doesn't do it justice. We were looking for a "not taco place" around here and Sal's pizza was the only thing we could find that wasn't fast food. Mom and Pop kind of restaurant.
