We eat here a couple times or more a month we came in with our family on Sn Feb 26 2023 My brother in law and I had ordered 1/2 Fried chicken. When we received our food we took one bite if the chicken and it had a funny taste like chicken was spoiled . Waitress got owner and we told her about issue. Waitress asked if we wanted something else so my brother in law got boasted or baked chicken and this time was fine I got tacos and there was not an issue. Issue comes when we get the bill I was charged for the tacos 12.50 which I agree I ordered to replace my tainted chicken but then was also charge of 3.99 for mashed potatoes ( which sat on table I did not eat and was also charged $4 for soup that these items came with my original meal. Now how was I supposed to know the meal we ordered was going to be tainted and was just not me it was tried by several at table every one who tasted it said same tasted spoiled. The mashed potatoes and soup were included in original meal. But to be unchanged for unforseen circumstances is wrong. We came here often never had an issue til this visit. Waitress was good . But husband questioned Bill at register about potatoes and soup she said we ate them which I ate the soup as it came b4 my meal. She said she woukd take potatoes off bill but not soup. I was not asking for anything from free not that kind of person. Just a little respect they acted like we we were lying about food I am an avid chicken eater and I can tell if chicken is spoiled and mine was. Just upsets me that as an owner you don't take pride or trust someone . Not everyone in this world is out to scam businesses. She was very rude husband told told her we would not be back her answer was simply ok.. the reason I gave the stars I did was the waitress was good. All other visits to this establishment was great food and service but one bad experienc possibly has...
Read moreI have eaten breakfast here about once a month for the past three years, since moving to the area. In all those visits, I have never had a bad omelet. Today I had the "Hungryman", which was delicious. My potato of choice is the cubed potato, which is freshly prepared and just the right amount of exterior crunch to creamy middle.
Though fairly crowded, the Country House is well staffed...I had coffee and water within two minutes of sitting down. By the time it had arrived, I had already decided on what I wanted, and the server took my order after setting the drinks down.
Within 10 minutes my food was served.
Servers move around the dining area with coffee pots, ready to refill.
Two minor complaints...I don't like pre-buttered toast. I always forget to ask for butter on the side.
The coffee is not great, tastes kind of like truck stop coffee. With the volume of business they do, I know the coffee has not been sitting around a long time, it's just not good coffee. Oh, and they have fake cream, not a fan.
Overall, with dozens of visits under my belt, great place to have breakfast.
Update: Visted with my two adult sons, DIL and granddaughter after Christmas. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast, and I will...
Read moreWe stopped here for a Sunday lunch. Wow so much good can be said about this place. We like to fine the mom and pop places. This rates at the top of the list of all the places we have found. The interior is clean. Nicely decorated and plenty of room. It has the feel of class yet the small-town cafe where locals gather for food and to socialize with each other. The service was excellent. Professional yet friendly. Food was amazing. I had the roasted turkey dinner. It came with bread dressing at the bottom with mashed potatoes turkey and gravy. Trust me, you won't go away hungry. My wife had the stir fry. Again very good and more than she could eat. Now about the pumpkin pie. My mama mother in law and wife all make pie. Don't tell my wife I said this but it was just as good or better then hers. It is worth saving room for. The menu selection amazing. From breakfast to Mexican to Italian to American there are many choices. I suggest asking your server for...
