Trini's Chinese Bites — Restaurant in Lauderdale Lakes

This may sound strange but Trini Chinese food is completely different, and better tasting than Chinese fast food. The other complication is that it is pretty difficult to find an authentic Trini Chinese food business in South Florida. Trini's Chinese Bites could not have been any harder to find, but was well worth the exploration. Since my MCL damage I have had to return to Total Orthopedic for my progress to be reviewed by the doctor. After a visit, I searched for food in the area and was excited to find this restaurant. It is a takeout only establishment but the area is clean and there is a clear view of the kitchen, so you can see all the tasty delights getting prepared. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and able to answer any questions you might have about the menu. I love that smell of fresh, well seasoned food being prepared in front of you. The menu is full of local (Trinidad) favorites, like Char Sui Kai Fan and Pepper Chicken, and sides as well. The portions are huge, tasty, and mouthwatering. Everything was cooked to perfection and the wait time was very short. The fried rice had the taste and flavor of the Dragon (Wok Hey), a thing that sets Chinese food places apart from each other. I only wish there were a bit more vegetables in there. As I will have many more trips to the doctor until I am fully healed, I will be back to Trini's Chinese Bites until I have tried everything on the menu. Hope to...

Visited this spot looking for some authentic Trini Chinese style food and was ultimately very disappointed. While the reviews suggested we go there, the food wasn’t as described by past reviews. We had the shrimp wontons (which the owner said was regularly ordered), pepper shrimp and shrimp Lo mein. I won’t address the horrible attitude of the owner/cashier in this review, but stick to food and what I would describe as bland tasting and lacking any flavor that you would expect from a “caribbean” restaurant. The shrimp wontons weren’t seasoned and the dipping sauce seemed store bought. The pepper shrimp, while spicy didn’t appear to be fresh and the LoMein noodles were overcooked. The food is phenomenal and the chef seems very friendly but that Asian lady at the register has a combative and impersonal attitude that is not fit for customer service . She is the main reason I stopped going there for practically a whole year . First of all she is NOT from Trinidad yet likes to wear clothing with the Trinidad flag on it . I mean she is covered from head to toe with Trinidadian apparel . She actually had the nerve to get offended because I thought she was from Trinidad, well what do you expect me to think when all of your attire has the Trinidad flag on it ?
