Wendy’s in Laurinburg was my first job. I loved it. Management was dedicated and customer service oriented and it was your JOB to care about your appearance, the quality of your work, being sanitary, the customer, etc. This was back in the 90’s when they had “Biggie” everything. Literally was just over 20 years ago. That’s only two decades. In that time, however, Wendy’s has gone from a place you love to go, to a place you avoid. I don’t know that they actually have a manager anymore, as I haven’t seen one. I see only the employees, many of them with really nasty attitudes, carrying themselves unprofessionally and acting like you are an intrusion and them having to work is a burden. My last visit, in both most recent and last as in no more Wendy’s for us from this store, was a drive-thru order. The drinks were wrong, all the food was wrong or missing, and all of it was cold. I called from my house, and whoever answered never said anything except “hello”, “ok” and “uh huh”. Literally I had to suggest my own corrective action. I brought my receipt with me, cut in the drive-they line and waited. Ultimately, they gave me new drinks and the burgers. I just had to deal with the cold nuggets and fries. Cashier at first window offered a reasonable attitude, however the second window’s employee was a bit more rude. In closing, I have no idea what has gone wrong in this town for “service” like this to become commonplace or on trend, but not too long ago employees knew they had to do their jobs, or their manager would replace them with someone who would. We need to go back to the old way, as this location has gone so astray, I’d be surprised if it stays in business another year. Especially with Chick-Fil-A coming to Laurinburg—that company demands of its employees to be professional and courteous...
Read moreI stopped through when I was traveling home yesterday on 74. There weren't many choices of food and just happened to stop here out of convenience. I had to come give a review. I've been traveling for work non-stop for FIVE weeks. Out of all the places I've eaten, sit down OR fast food, I had the best customer service experience here. Which I was NOT expecting. Every single person that spoke to me was friendly and helpful. They were PACKED when I went in and the woman in front of me had a huge order so I did have a bit of a wait time. Normally, when you're waiting a long time, most fast food places... no one will say anything to you. I had one girl apologize for the wait. Another young man was rushing to take care of something over by the drinks and stopped in his tracks to make sure my order had been taken. While I was waiting for my food, I watched them pack the food for the woman with the huge order. They made sure nothing was squished, everything was right and organized. I was really impressed by the care they took. When I got my food, I was apologized to again. I wish other places took initiative like this. When you're packed and busy, you can't help that things may take some extra time. But that 2 seconds of apologizing to the person standing there forever makes all the difference. Whoever is hiring and training the people at this store is doing something right! Thank you for being so friendly and caring about the...
