Kohr's Frozen Custard the Original Lavallette — Restaurant in Lavallette

After 20 years of business with no negative reviews I am beyond saddened to post the experience I had at Kohrs Bros tonight. Kohrs bros was a happy tradition for our family and while we are clear on what is considered off season we double checked business hours before arriving and were disappointed to find the location closing early, as were 7 other patrons. My sister had just been engaged and our aunt who took care of us during the summer always celebrated our achievements by buying us Kohrs creamsicles. As we walked up despite the listed hour the staff acknowledged they were still intended to be open but had no patrons for 20 mins and decided to close early. While I respect that, they were extremely rude and turned away more than just our group but a few other customers. When I tried to explain the sentimental value of the moment I was quickly dismissed by five staff members. My Aunt was a regular patron until her passing. We've been coming here for years. I finally can say with all respect that my entire family and kids really don't like the chocolate shakes. Everything is always good and fresh. The issue is that vanilla ice cream and hot fudge is NOT a chocolate shake. They have a mc donalds taste! We like real chocolate flavor. And they aren't exactly cheap. So every other night we have to go to different places so they can all enjoy that, but we would love to come here in the future and see a better...
