Lawrence Park Dinor is a must-stop if you’re in the Erie area! A small and cozy diner from the 40s, it offers the most friendly and conversational staff (who call all of the regulars by name!) and terrific food at a good price. We stopped for lunch, and I tried the cowboy burger with onion peels- a solid recommendation from the chef, as we sat at the bar right behind the grill and chatted away with him for a good part of our visit. We watched the chef cook all of the food with perfect timing, and it was fun to have a front-row seat to the cooking, with everything looking delicious. They make the burgers fresh daily (no frozen beef here due to limited freezer space), and you can really taste the difference in quality. Although we didn’t order it, the Greek sauce was highly popular with other patrons of the diner. My husband and brother both got the chicken bacon ranch sandwich with fries, and it’s a generous serving of chicken, so much that my brother said he pulled some off to have chicken tenders on the side. My brother said it was so good that he’ll be reminiscing about it for the foreseeable future and is eager to plan a return trip to Erie just to go to the diner. They also have a guest book that we signed, which they started a few years ago after being featured in the Washington Examiner and started having people visit from all over the country and even all over the world, so it’s a fun memento to document the diner’s reach. We all really enjoyed ourselves with both the environment and the food and look forward to whenever we...

I promised our waitress that I would take a minute or five to review this swell establishment which my rock and roll band visited while on a mini tour around Pittsburgh and Buffalo. We were staggering under the load of our exhaustion and hunger when we sat down at the "bar"... at 12:01 PM. One minute too late for the eggs and bacon that we had deployed for. We did what we could to inspire the team there to allow "just one group" of breakfasts AFTER the designated cut-off time but, sadly, they were just too wise to fall for it because if they had, the couple that came in 2 minutes after us for breakfast would have demanded late breakfast as well. Then the four top that came in 2 minutes after them would have demanded late breakfast, etc, etc, etc. Anyway, having been bested by the cook/waitress team, we ended up with burgers and such which were expletive-laden awesomely fresh and shockingly delicious. Not using expletives in this post, clearly. Anyway, you get the idea. The staff was just pretty much exactly what a DINOR like this needs to really fulfill its promise: hard-working, honest, just friendly enough, attentive, over-all cool lake-effect weather-toughened blue collar humans, aka, the best of us. Rick Uppling strongly recommends this DINOR, and not only because you just gotta eat at a DINOR once in your life if you are "not from around there" where they have "DINORS". Please note, not a lot of space to maneuver so I was glad to be definitely on the slim side of things. It is tight...

Great local diner with homemade food and homemade atmosphere. My husband and I have been coming to Erie for a few years now and never stopped by, but really glad we took the chance and came in. We got coffee, the scrambler skillet, and the breakfast sampler (scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, house potatoes). All were so dang good. Do NOT skip on the house potatoes, they cook them in something special like a tomato/paprika based sauce that makes them outrageously savory. I ate everything on my plate and managed to get down half a pancake before I had to call it, for my own good. The pancakes are delicious, so don't pass up on those either and just take home the leftovers for later snacking. Good price to portion ration, we were both happy with the bill. Staff was also very friendly and hospitable, we sat at the bar because they were really busy, but even so the servers weren't standoffish or too preoccupied to be kind and attentive. Food came out at a good pace, and it was all cooked very well. Seriously great food and restaurant, trust me when I say you'll be compelled to leave an exceptional tip for these folks. Don't pass up if you're...

This place was amazing!! The food was delicious, and the staff went out of their way to provide top tier service. We arrived from out of town with our small dog, and had chosen this diner for the good reviews and outdoor seating pictured on Google. Well, we found out the outdoor tables technically weren’t available but when I mentioned our dog the hostess quickly went into action to set us up outside anyway. Multiple staff quickly brought us our drinks and took our order, even throwing in a special “pup cup” treat for our dog of vanilla ice cream and bacon. He loved it! Our meals were equally delicious. My husband loved the toasted 3-decker club sandwich and potato salad. I ordered the gyro and onion rings which blew my mind with their tasty freshness! The tzatziki sauce on the gyro was so yummy, and the pita was the best I’ve ever tasted. Usually when I get pita bread it’s kind of dry and tough, but this was light, soft, flaky, and tasted so fresh!! 10/10 experience and the friendly staff made our day. Also — incredibly affordable!
