We recently had dinner at AJ'S. We started off our dinner with the Grilled Cheeses Wedges. The Grilled Cheeses Wedges were good but could use a bit more cheese for it to have that true grilled cheese taste. The tomato bisque dipping sauce had an interestingly warm mouth feel to it. The Chef Paul Prudhomme's Cajun Meatloaf was the perfect comfort meal. The meatloaf had a good spicy flavor that was a great flavor balance for the meal. Meaty, comforting and very warm from the spices. The Fried Green Beans were extremely addictive. Perfectly cooked and crunchy, and tasted even better when dipped in the homemade ranch sauce. The mashed potatoes were creamy and a bit chunky, and tasted very good with the gravy. My son loved his Chicken & Cheese Tacos. Before we knew it he had finished all three. My wife liked the Pittsburgh Style Ribeye Steak, but found it to have far too much fat. A bit surprised that for the price that the additional fat on the outside of the steak wasn't trimmed enough prior to cooking it. My wife loved the flavors from the herbs and brown butter sauce. The Grilled Asparagus was surprisingly tender for the size, and had a good amount of spices and flavor. Also, the Garlic Mashed Potatoes were delicious. For dessert I enjoyed the warm, spiced flavorful Apple Crisp that was chock full of apples. I liked that it was more apples than the granola, and because of that a great balance between the two. The ice cream was a great way to cool off the hot apple crisp and add a level of creaminess to the dessert. My son and wife enjoyed Cheesecake for dessert. My wife enjoyed the Raspberry Cheesecake while my son enjoyed the Turtle Cheesecake. They loved the creamy and richness of the Cheesecake.
We have ordered takeout, and eaten in the restaurant. Either way the food is delicious, and served by a very friendly staff. As much as we enjoy the lunch and dinner options from time to time we enjoy brunch here too. Worth the visit if you are in the...
Read moreI have ordered the same meal about 5 times in the last six months and always by delivery. First, the ribs are great! But I didn’t get the onion rings or the coleslaw that were ordered with the meal. In addition the Cesar salad (ordered as an additional side) was nothing but lettuce, watery dressing and slight strings of cheese. No croutons, no breadsticks .
Now I called to let them know and they indicated I would have to talk to the delivery app I used. Have you ever tried to call these apps? I asked that the manager call me since they indicated they could not help me.
Now the manager did call me and he did sound very apologetic. He even gave me a telephone number to call him and he would add something free to my next order. He indicated two problems: one with the app I used . Because I ordered for a delivery 2 hours later it apparently does not show the “complete” order in full. Second, apparently there is a shift change (I scheduled the delivery to be between 5:00 and 5:15 and that was also perhaps part of the problem. No one checked to see that the order was complete! AND apparently after the driver picked they saw my onion rings and coleslaw .
$50.00 for ribs (and again they are delicious) and a basically lettuce salad. Not exactly what I was expecting. I think they could/should...
Read moreWe tried out this local restaurant last night. It's family owned by neighbors in our area. It was fantastic! I recommend it to everyone! My husband and I decided to try it out after just learning about it less than a week ago. The service was amazing and the food was outstanding. I wish I could remember our server's name because we had so much fun with her. The pork tenderloin was truly great but my husband got the Cajun meatloaf sandwich and my mind was blown. We ended up sharing meals. This is coming from someone who typically HATES meatloaf. My husband said this was THE best meatloaf sandwich he has ever had. I will go back and order that meatloaf sandwich myself. The fried mushrooms, sweet potato fries and Kevin's Apple Crisp we're also done extremely well and were delicious. I was conflicted on what to try because everything looked so good. I eat pork tenderloin typically once a year as a special treat and I know where I'll be getting mine in the future. We were able to meet Coleman (one of the owners) and he was very kind. We enjoyed being able to warm up a bit and have a hot meal when our power was out last night due to the high winds. We even got into conversation with the couple sitting next to us. It was a great respite on a dark, cold night. We'll definitely be...
