Crown Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Lawrence

I have been going to this specific CFC for the past 8 years but sadly yesterday was the last time we'll be stopping by the place. Its a good 30 minute hike from where we live but the food use to be so good that we didnt mind suffering through traffic to get to it. The ownership has changed a few months ago as I found out the last time I was there, the new ownership has made a few changes and you can definitely see them, the place is much cleaner now BUT the food has gone down the tubes. First off the prices have gone up at least 1520%, the portions have gone down 1020% and worst of all the quality has gone down beyond belief. I know the owner reads the reviews so I hope he takes this one seriously, just like some other folks have mentioned the food must be sitting on the shelf for hours and hours before getting served, the chicken we got was refried to a crisp and so were the fries; WHO THE HELL REFRIES FRIES??? The guy behind the counter has been there for a while as I have seen him there for the past year or so, doesnt he notices it and complains or raise an issue with the owner?? Every time we have been to this location it use to be packed and for the first time yesterday, while we were there for almost 30 minutes, no other customer came in; i can see why...

I find it pricey on somethings. They have a great salt control and the fries are salty but in a way you appreciate and crispy. I'm not into fried chicken on bone I'm more of a meaty white meat tender that is fried guy. This place is more of a unload because you have munchies spot for they have many little side goodies and you can unload on French fries and fried chicken which is generally low price and cost effective. Very basic and standard items , a pizzeria that doesn't serve pizza. Their best best items are the Mediterranean dishes with the rice platters or gyros and anything Mediterranean like the grilled meats for salads outside the American oil and carbs. Definitely pricey but the grilled meat portions are generous for the rice plate which are best bites of this place. Should definitely just be a Mediterranean...

Had a bucket delivered last weekend (delivery only available on weekends). It came piping hot and quick. Best fried chicken I've ever had north of the Carolinas! Getting another bucket right now!.....updated 9/25/20. I've been ordering from here pretty regularly since my original review. The last few times have been a little disappointing. I always order a 35 pc bucket($55.00 with delivery + tip) and ask it to be made fresh. I specifically asked the girl for a fresh batch tonight. Not out of the warmer. Tonight I got 35 pcs right out of the warmer. The chicken was dry and not nearly as good as when its made fresh. I consider myself a good customer and always tip the driver well. I feel my request for fresh chicken was not unreasonable and am disappointed that my request was ignored. Might not be a...
