Market Basket — Local services in Lawrence

Having never been to this store I was re very surprised at how small it was inside and how little stock was contained in each of the aisles. That being the case it was difficult for me to find exactly what I wanted and was looking for. I had to settle for a couple of things I was not intending to buy to substitute the things that was actually looking for. Over all the store was rather clean and seen to be kept up very well as the aisles were neat I saw no trash everything seemed to be very well kept in order and organized quite well. The employees were all busy in only 1 or 2 I saw that did not have their face masks on properly or at all but not a major issue that I could tell. The best thing about the entire experience was my point of check out using the express the girl there was obviously Spanish but she spoke very good English and I was surprised at how very very polite and courteous that she was. In fact I made a comment to her and said of all my times going to market basket over the years I would have to say that you're probably via the nicest most polite cashier I had the pleasure of dealing with. It was really no joke even though our interaction was rather short I just thought that she was exceedingly pleasant and very nice and genuine in doing so. Over all I would have given it 5 stars had they had everything in stock that I wanted but I suppose you can't have everything if not for that I would have given the store 5 stars but gave it 4 for not being entirely what I wanted as far as what was in stock in exactly the items I was shopping for. Otherwise from what I could expect tell from my experience walking through the store the place was in good shape the employees were busy in unlink other stores in other ethnic neighborhoods with this area being primarily Hispanic I was very surprised and impressed by the fact that everyone was very busy the stores was very clean and it wasn't what I expected at all. I would have to apologize not to anyone in particular but for having any misguided thoughts going in period not sure why that would have been but I kind of expected to see people kind of goofing off would be talking in not working in not wearing their face maths and I'm not really sure what I expected but it was far above and beyond what I did expect and I have to apologize for having any negative thoughts walking in period those were quickly erased not soon after my entrance into the store. And they were certainly erased upon my dealing with the cashier who is extremely polite very curious very pleasant and it was actually very genuine from what I could tell she was really a nice girl. I complimented her and she thanked me. I wish I had her name and I could give it to you and leave it on this so that someone could maybe reward her for being such a great cashier. All I know is when you walk in the entrance that's to the fall right hand side of the store she's the 1st cashier at that end for the express checkout to was where I think the courtesy booth is but disregard that she's on the side of the store at the end where the dairy section is but she is the 1st cash register on the right hand side of the store when you face to store from the outside and when I was in the store itself it was around 6:30 p.m. roughly estimating for if anybody can gather information from that to exactly who it was on July 4th that was working that register between 6 o'clock in 6:30 p.m. that girl deserves a raise in the compliment because she was very good at what she did she handled everything professionally in she was extremely nice I don't know how long she's work the I did not look at her name tag as it usually says so on the name tag but regardless she was great. She made the whole experience have me put an! On the end with a big :). Any doubts I may have had walking into the store were erased upon going to the store and I would not hesitate to go to the store again I just usually don't because I don't really live in the area I just happened to be in the area and need to go to the closest store at the time. A+....

This is one of the dumpiest supermarkets around, especially that this store is many people's only choice for supermarkets within Lawrence. Just by going to the North or the South a bit, you can get much better sale prices at Stop & Shop which is somewhat offset by their somewhat higher regular prices but my bill still comes out to be 20% less at Stop & Shop when I take the strategy of stocking up on nonperishables when on sale.

Most of the stuff here that sells for a lower price is of lower quality (the meat that is priced lower is select grade which is the lowest quality around; in the case of produce, they buy the lower priced stuff that is smaller and/or older which is less flavorful or they buy it from another country when competitors offer the same item either locally grown or at least form somewhere in the US). All this makes this store to be more like Walmart than a true...

Shayla or sheila (more description she wears a red coat and I think she’s a manager) in bakery is terrible. Honestly satan. She needs to be better. She doesn’t deserve a job here because she’s extremely rude. My husband AND MYSELF, Came to this store she doesn’t deserve to be in this position. I’ve came her and she was so rude to my husband. Who does that?!? I will TRY to avoid her when I come here weekly. She never wears her name tag so I’m not sure if it is sheila or shayla. I come in this store weekly and every single time she’s just there. Taking up space. You would think she’d be nicer to customers!! Absolute shame.
